Synopsis:
"In the year 2026, when the populace is divided between workers who must live underground and the wealthy, who enjoy a futuristic city of splendor, a man from the upper class abandons his privileged life to join oppressed workers in a revolt. Perhaps the most famous & influential of all silent films, German director Fritz Lang's masterpiece has now been magnificently restored to include the original 1927 orchestral score. This version includes 25 minutes of additional footage."

"One of the most astonishing and interesting films of all time!"

"This film is a masterpeice and I love this film. You have to see it in the reconstructed and restored version. The restoration is pefecet and it almost looks like a early 1960's film. I'm serious. See this film now because it is amazing!"

"Great Special Effects"

"This is by far my favorite silent movie. My first reaction was of shock to see such amazing special effects for a silent film. I watched a BluRay copy and the print was among the best black and white movies I have ever seen. It was a little awkward to notice how much makeup the cast was wearing. Besides all that it was an amazing movie. Mind you this is a very long movie that requires quite a bit of focus, but it pays off in the end.

The movie starts off with an image of a utopian civilization. Scenic shots of a large city with flying machines, endless roads, and colossal skyscrapers awe the audience. Fritz Lang could easily be described as the James Cameron of the silent era when discussing special effects. The movie starts off as essentially a view into paradise. The main character, Freder, busies himself chasing vixens in a garden. As he is busy chasing a woman, another beautiful girl appears with a crowd of raggedy children and says “these are your kids.” Upon seeing these children, Freder realizes the terrible life of the workers and begins a journey to end the terrible society that his own father created and controlled from his New Tower of Babel. The story goes on in which he follows this girl, Maria. He takes up her cause and eventually decides to live among the workers. An evil scientist by the name of Rotwang kidnaps her and makes an evil version of her that destroys her message through evil actions. Eventually, the upper class is forced to face the lower class and everything works out."
