Synopsis:
"Judy Garland and Fred Astaire sing and trip the light fantastic to 17 Irving Berlin tunes in this romantic holiday classic. Berlin's songs add sparkle to the simple plot of a hoofer (Astaire) who teams with an inexperienced chorus girl (Garland) in order to show up his former dance partner, Nadine (Ann Miller). Peter Lawford also stars. Extras include commentary by Astaire's daughter and Judy Garland biographer John Fricke, and a trailer gallery."

"Look for classic Hollywood talent here"

"Easter Parade 1948 is a classic Hollywood gem that will remain treasured in the gallery of happy musicals as one of the happiest and one of the best. Fred Astaire, Judy Garland, and Ann Miller are the perfect clash of overflowing talent for this film about show business, booming love, and Easter hats!

Sure, the story differs significantly from typical Hollywood movies that I’m used to seeing, but I like seeing the elegant costumes, extravagant dancing, and great acting. As a result, I put this movie on the top of my favorites list. Speaking of extravagance, the elaborate song and dance numbers that popped up throughout the film kept my eyes fixed to the screen. I particularly liked Garland and Astaire various performances as the stage team Don and Hannah, not to forget Ann Miller’s glamorous tap dancing number. Equally important to the musical essence, though, were the blossoming love stories - and triangles - among the characters that created the substance for the entire story. To me, love is an important factor to many good movies out there, not just musicals.

This movie has the kind of happy ending that made me think that I couldn’t get any better than musicals, whether they’re made in the Golden Age of Hollywood or on Broadway stages. My only complaint is that the ending came too quickly.

Anytime I want to be reminded of Hollywood talent, I look no further than Easter Parade 1948!"
