Synopsis: "In a strange, secluded chateau, a woman known only as O (Corinne Clery) is introduced to sadomasochism by her lover: He whips her, chains her and watches her make love to and inflict pain on others. In the process of "proving her love" for him, she gives up everything -- even agreeing to be branded -- to provide him with pleasure. French director Just Jaeckin (Emmanuelle) helmed this adaptation of Pauline Réage's best-selling erotic novel." "Should be a porno...""As stated in the summary, this movie should be considered solely a porno. I've tried reading the book, got two pages into it, and stopped. That is how terrible the book was, but I thought, "hey, maybe I'll watch the movie, instead", right? Well, the same thing. It's absolutely the worst movie I have ever seen and I have seen a lot! The story-line could be good, however, all it is about is a girl who goes to a chateau by her lover (whom, in the end, is actually doing it for another man), is trained to be an obedient slave. By which, is made to have sexual intercourse with any and every man that wants her, whipped, chained, and so on. It's basically the usual cliche BDSM related theme. I don't really expect much since this movie was created in 1975 and the book much earlier, but still. All it revolves around is sex, sex, and more sex! It's an hour and a half waste of time. Not to mention, some of the aspects can easily be found in the Gorean books written by John Norman. This concludes my review on "The Story of O"." by WolfChyld on Sat Dec 31st, 2011 0 Comments | Reply | Report |
