Synopsis: "Kermit, Gonzo, Miss Piggy and others hit the high seas in a wacky, silly and fun-filled musical adaptation of Robert Louis Stevenson's classic adventure. A young boy holds a secret treasure map, and Kermit is the friendly sea captain who sets sail with the lad to find the fortune. But one crew member wants the treasure for himself -- and it's Long John Silver in disguise!" "I can't believe it's butter. I mean better than Robocop.""I want to say I loved the part where the pirate dies right before jim gets the map and gonzo (or the rat who's name I can never remember) said "I thought this was a kid's movie." This movie is funny and my brother saw it when he was a kid and we both love it. I reccomend it to everyone who loves a family film." by jacobatthemovies on Sun Oct 9th, 2011 0 Comments | Reply | Report"One of most memorable kids' flicks to come along""Muppet’s Treasure Island is a family movie (yes, seems impossible) that I’m sure adults can like even if they don’t value the magic of children’s movies about a traveling troupe of rambunctious, loud-mouthed puppets (or muppets). And even if you don’t like pirates, you will still find yourself laughing or smiling pleasantly to yourself as the story goes along. Tim Curry, who plays Long John Silver, is a fine actor and it shows in his portrayal of this “evil” pirate. If you want more humor, watch The Muppets Christmas Carol rendition, but I assure you that this film is worthwhile. I watched this movie right after watching the episode “I Shouldn’t Be Alive: Shark Survivor” about a group of people who get shipwrecked and end up stranded in the middle of the sea for days with no food or water. Eventually, a couple people drink seawater, and to the others’ horror, they quickly become delirious, hallucinate, and talk and act wildly. So naturally the scene when the muppets joyfully start singing “Cabin Fever” became my favorite The storyline remains basic (well, what more do you want, go in, get the treasure, and go), riddled with childish jokes throughout, along with catchy little tunes with which to sing along (with hilarious lyrics). So you and your little one will be pleasantly surprised at the end by how much you’ve enjoyed it." by dtachia on Mon Feb 22nd, 2010 0 Comments | Reply | Report |
