Synopsis: "In this Star Wars prequel, jedi Qui-Gon Jinn (Liam Neeson) and Obi-Wan Kenobi (Ewan McGregor) must protect Queen Amidala (Natalie Portman) from the evil clutches of Darth Sidious and Senator Palpatine (Ian McDiarmid). Along the way, they meet Anakin Skywalker (Jake Lloyd), a child who shows intimations of a great gift. Terence Stamp and Samuel L. Jackson co-star amid spectacular CGI scenery in director George Lucas's sci-fi epic." "Jar Jar BInks: the movie""Star wars phantom menace - A massive dissapointment upon release, a nonsensicle plot, bad effects and wooden acting. The plot is fine, but this is a good display as to why lucas needs somebody to polish his scripts and direect his film because this beardy man has a great imagination. He dreamed up the star wars universe after all, and yet he churned out 3 crappy movies when left to his own acord without the limits of a pushy studio or limited effects. However in comparison to later prequals this is far better, the acting lacks a certain plank of wood playing anakin and liam neeson and that dude from spaced as darth mauls voice to a good job (TILL THEY DUN DIED!) The main charm of this film is the reality of it, sure the cgi is worse than in 2 and 3, yet there are many more sets used and the camera is not digital which adds a far more real tone to the film wheres the later films would just look like video game cut scenes. And lets not forget that duel at the end, which is the best of the entire saga." by Rogus on Sun Sep 5th, 2010 0 Comments | Reply | Report |
