Synopsis: "Ben Affleck is Matt Murdock, a Marvel Comics hero who's a lawyer by day but fights the bad guys at night to avenge the murder of his father, a boxer. But what sets Matt apart from most superheroes isn't his back story; it's his handicap. Matt is blind, the result of a childhood accident that may have removed his ability to see but gifted him with heightened senses of touch, taste, hearing and smell. Michael Clarke Duncan plays Kingpin." "#6 worst comic book movie""With a big name star and a story that comes from the pages of one of Frank Millers best storylines, should have been a great movie, sadly this was not the case. Filled with cheesy dialogue, odd fight scenes involving a teeter totter, the watering down of two great villains and an uninteresting love story, Daredevil was another case of a studio ignoring the source material for a quick buck. The story was never fully fledged out and it was very noticeable. What could have been another good franchise was hindered by stupid decisions throughout the production process. That being said, the R rated version that was released on DVD was a much better film that corrected many mistakes by added story depth to it, making it a completely different and therefore good movie. Nothing overly awesome or anything, but better than Superman Returns and Hulk. It starts out by Daredevil as a child watching his father in a boxing match. His father is susposed to be really good. One day, while coming home on his skateboard, he sees his dad mugging someone. The startled child takes off running, but crosses the path of a truck carrying toxic gas. It busts open, and the toxic waste spills over in his eyes, blinding him. While in the hospital, he notices that all of his other scenses have been made like three times better. Well, later on his dad gets killed, and even later he becomes the dark hero, daredevil that kills all of his enemies. He fights bullseye, my favorite daredevil villain. He also fights Electra because Bullseye kills her dad with daredevils weapon which in turn caused her to think that daredevil killed her dad. I guess it would have been good, but it looked sort of fake at times, and the plot was pretty lame. But, I didn't hate it or anything like that." by frodo on Fri May 18th, 2007 0 Comments | Reply | Report |
