Synopsis: "Fusing slasher franchises, this hybrid of horror pits nightmarish Freddy Krueger against serial killer Jason Voorhees in the ultimate showdown after Freddy -- stuck in hell -- revives Jason as part of a plan to revisit the dreams of Elm Street teens. But Freddy's demonic scheme spins out of control when the maniacal Jason begins his own campaign of terror. Robert Englund returns as Freddy, while Ken Kirzinger takes over the part of Jason." "PLACE YOUR BET'S...""This was a highly anticipated horror back in '03's summer! As any horror fanatic would know, Jason and Freddy are two iconic killers in the genre, both terrifying, both ruthless and unstoppable. But was this persona present in this film? Yes and No. Freddy Vs Jason starts out in with Jason waking up from some sort of coma as such but little does he know, Freddy cant kill anyone in Sprinwood as he is almost weakened i guess, so he needs Jason to reinstall fear, thinking that the police will know it's freddy. Jason arrives at Sprinwood..AND SO THE FUN BEGINS!!! He kill's off one character at the beginning which the police automatically suspect freddy. Lori, the central protagonist, realises what Freddy is up to and she goes into the dream world to get freddy back to reality to face off against jason and die. THIS WHERE IT KICK'S OFF. Freddy and Jason begin battling it out with more people dying and carnage ensuing. The battle climaxes with Freddy dying. Boo hoo. But at the end, it's revealed that they are both, infact alive...SEQUEL???? The reason i gave this movie such a low star rating is simply because it's very poorly executed. The dialouge is terrible, the acting is BAD. But the movie can actually be scary and funny at the same time, it just doesnt feel like a horror movie, more of a comedy. But desspite these flaws, the movie is quite panicky! The fact that no one is safe awake or asleep provide's the movie with a great synopsis, although the director clearly failed in nailing this. Overall, the movie is a must see for friday the 13th and nightmare on elm street fans but anyone who hates horror should avoid this because they wont take it seriously." by KeanuZz on Mon May 30th, 2011 0 Comments | Reply | Report"Not a good review at all""When i first found out about this movie i was so excited...intell i watched. It was one of the worst movies iv seen for a long time. They were so wrong about jason and everything about him. For exsample he's not affraid of water none of the other movies ever made him affraid of water heck in number 6 jason goes into the water to go kill a guy so does that sound like is affraid of the water he went into a lake freddy made a stream and jason craped himself. In half the original movies jason gets stabed in the eye and the gave him 2 how does that work? it wasent a remake like the new friday the 13th. I would go see all the friday the 13th movies and nightmare on elm street so you can get the feel for the charecters freddy was the same but poor jason was not, if i was jason and i watched this movie i would go drowned myself. (hahaha)" by brennan on Mon Jan 11th, 2010 0 Comments | Reply | Report"Freddy vs. Jason""Here I go with the most anticipated VS film of the Millenium. In the 40's we got Frankenstein and the Wolf Man, in the 70's we got Godzilla and King Kong. Now Freddy Krueger and Jason Voorhees have come together. In my opinion it was a decent way the writers brought them together.
Now it's very hard to scare me, so going into a horror film is for pure entertainment for me. The characters in the film are a nice blend of Freddy(connected to Freddy, young and smart) and Jason(sex, drugs, etc)victims. Jason Ritter(of the late John Ritter) and Monica Keena are terrific as the "Final two. " With the rest of the cast supporting well.
Robert Englund IS the definitive Freddy Krueger, with Kane Hodder(sorely missed)replaced by Ken Kirzenger(who cameod as Jason in Friday the 13th 8: Jason Takes Manhattan). The fight at the end is predictable as you have to indestructable villains who can go all out with one another.
I suggest watching all 7 Nightmare films, and 10 Jason films(9 are only required in this series as the 10th takes place after this film)before watching this. " 0 Comments | Reply | Report |
