Synopsis: "Meet eight beautiful, intelligent and fun young women who also happen to be huge comic book fans. Gathering together one evening to talk about the comic books they love -- and hate -- these gals lounge, eat chocolate, guzzle wine and give you the low-down on manga, anime, Neil Gaiman, Marvel and DC, the universe in general and men in particular. Be a fly on the wall as these smart, savvy and outspoken chicks dish about more than just pop culture." "Comic Book Pajama Party: Women Who Love Comic Books!""Noone told warned me I was walking into a two-hour superhero version of "The Young & The Restless". I used to be a fan of "Days of Our Lives", so I'm not completely turned off by soap operas, but when it comes to Spider-Man, I have a problem with it. First of all, Spider-Man/Peter Parker should not be crying! Three times, I counted!!!! Secondly, I already hate that they casted that crappy "actress" as Mary Jane. It's funny that she plays a bad actress in this movie, so it must have been easy for her. I also hate that in all three of these movies, Spider-Man keeps taking off his damn mask! Stop showing your identity to everyone. The villains were subpar. Sandman- "Yawn"! Hobgoblin (Green Goblin's son) is a good guy at the end? Huh? That guy from the 70's show is Venom? Are you kidding me! When he spoke, his voice should have been menacing! Instead it's some average sounding dude, not scary!!! And they introduce Gwen Stacy (Peter Parker's first love interest that died in the comics and he knew before MJ) and she is just kinda there. Her charcter was lost in this movie. When Peter and Mary Jane were having problems (that's this whole movie), I was thinking Peter should get with his landlord's neighbor and ditch MJ and Gwen. When is Dr. Conners going to turn into The Lizard? What's the hold-up? Maybe in Spider-Man 4. I'm not sure if I liked how they did the "Black Spidey Suit". Sorry Stan Lee, your scene was pretty corny and seemed forced. This movie dragged at times and felt like the 2:20 it ran. There are some good things about this movie though. I did like JK Simmons as Jameson. He has been great throughout all three flicks. Bruce Campbell is hilarious in his scene as the French restaurant host. The best part of this movie is when Peter's personality alters due to the alien symbiote (this is why he has the black suit). The scene where he is pointing and acting like a hot shot is great. To bad this laugh out loud moment couldn't save it. Plus, they played James Brown under the scene. Why does Spider-Man have to have an American flag behind him before his big battle, LAME!!!!!!!!! Nothing like forced patriotism. Basically, Spider-Man 3 is lackluster and is the weakest of the 3, by far. If you look at the history of third installments of movies, especially comic flicks (batman, superman, x-men, blade) they tend to "Jump The Shark" or simply suck! Spider-Man 3 isn't as bad as "Hulk" or "Elektra", but it's as underwhelming as "Fantastic Four" and "Daredevil". There are some good action scenes and has some good moments, but it keeps turning into "One Life to Live". I'd say go see it if you are a comic nerd and feel obligated (like me). Really, you should wait til it comes on free tv during Thanksgiving. Instead, watch "All My Children" to see how soap operas are intended to be.
