Synopsis: "When a secret crush turns up dead and the murderer is anyone's guess, teenage loner Brendan Fry (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) is forced to navigate his school's social network through intense interactions with thespians, band geeks and druggies (including a grown-up Lukas Haas). This unconventional film noir marked a promising debut for writer-director Rian Johnson, picking up a Special Jury Prize at the 2005 Sundance Film Festival." "Brick""Like it's name sake throw it into the nearest ocean. Hailed as groundbreaking this film noire for me was hard to watch. It involved lots of catchy, wordy dialogue mixed in with a nonsensical, non believable plot - throw in the arch nemesis (who looks like a crippled version of Dark Shadow's Barnabas Collins) who by the way is selling drugs from his mom's basement. This was not a great choice of roles for Joseph Gordon Levitt, but I guess not every movie is gonna be 500 Days of Summer material." by themovieking on Thu Sep 10th, 2009 0 Comments | Reply | Report |
