Synopsis: "During a space voyage, four scientists are altered by cosmic rays: Reed Richards (Ioan Gruffudd) gains the ability to stretch his body; Sue Storm (Jessica Alba) can become invisible; Johnny Storm (Chris Evans) controls fire; and Ben Grimm (Michael Chiklis) is turned into a super-strong … thing. Together, these "Fantastic Four" must now thwart the evil plans of Dr. Doom (Julian McMahon) and save the world from certain destruction." "Fantastic Four""Okay, not many have seen this flm. Why? Because it was never officially released. Back in 1994 New Horizons a film company now no longer around had the distribution rights to the Fantastic Four franchise. Not wanting to lose out on making some money, they rushed in production a low budget(B Movie fashion)film with Oley Sassone(director of several Hercules: The Legendary Journeys and Xena: Warrior Princess episodes)as director and produced by Roger Corman. Here are the cast rundown:
Alex Hyde-White as Richard Reed/Mister Fantastic
Rebecca Staab as Sue Storm/The Invisible Woman
Michael Bailey Smith as Ben Grimm
Carl Ciarfalio as The Thing
Jay Underwood as Johnny Storm/The Human Torch
Joseph Culp as Doctor Doom
Kat Green as Alicia Masters 0 Comments | Reply | ReportThe film followed the comic book a bit more closely than the theatrical film and feature decent enough Special FX for a low budget project. The cast and crew were led to believe the film would be released in some form and for this there performances are exceptionally well done. The costumes used here are the one they use in the comics and cartoons. The film went as far as getting a trailer(I only saw it once on TV)and when Stan Lee had saw this he threatened to sue if they ever released the film. The cast and crew were paid and film was finished, but never saw the legal light of day. Now that the history of this film is out of the way, I must say I liked this film very much. Although, not available in stores you can get a good looking copy at Comic convention or of course of Ebay type sites. Hopefully we will one day get a special set with all 3 films together, but until than those are the best ways to get it. " |
