Synopsis: "The final installment of director Chan Wook Park's revenge trilogy (preceded by Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance and Oldboy) chronicles the efforts of Lee Geum-ja (Yeong-ae Lee) -- known to her cellmates as "the kind Ms. Geum-ja" -- to track down the man who betrayed her. Taking the rap for her accomplice and incarcerated for 13 long years, she plots an elaborate retribution with help from her fellow inmates." "Vengeance has never been so sweet""This was a close one out of the three from the revenge trilogy. I still stand by Oldboy being the best. They were both good, but Sympathy For Mr. Vengeance beats out this film, but only by a little bit. I will admit it has a really demented and horrible revenge plot by Yeong-ae Lee's character. She goes all out almost making herself a fictional character you would see in a comic book. She had the costume, the make-up and the really interesting gun that you had to get up close and personal with to fire it. There is a lot of back story for all the small characters in this film and at some points it is hard to follow, but will still keep you interested. This was not a bad end to the revenge trilogy at all. All three movies showed crazy horrible revenge scenes and that is what Park Chan-wook wanted." by chelano on Thu Aug 19th, 2010 0 Comments | Reply | Report |
