"I hear a lot of people say that they don't like this movie but I thought that it was pretty good. But I do have to agree what Michael Scott (from The Office) said that Bruce Willis went from being a normal guy in the original movies into propelling cars into helicopters. A little unbelievable at times but good still."

"John McClane is back in the best Die Hard since the first. It looks like they really do still make them like they used to, good old fashioned action with a spoonful of humor. The scene in which McClane takes down a helicopter with a patrol car is unbelievably unrealistic, but that's how I like them best.

Old dog John McClane has to put a stop to the computer whiz Thomas Gabriel (who Timothy Oliphant does a tremendous job at) who threatens to criplle the entire country by terminating all technology. Mary Elizabeth Winstead was an ear scraper for me, as I wasn't sure about wether she would fit well in an action movie, but she played her role as John's son, Lucy surprisingly well. "Dad..." she said on Thomas' phone. "Now there's only five of them." Gotta love her.

The scene which deserves the most praise though, would be the scene in which John in his 16-wheeler is chased by a harrier. The unrealism is skimming the edges a bit here, but it's unforgettable."

*sighs* if you're a big fan of non stop action films then this is the film for you, if you're a fan of action films but have a decent story and has a break from the action for atleast 5 minutes then this movie isn't for you. after the first 40 minutes of the film you pretty much had enough action that would of lasted you the last 3 films but the action just won't stop, by the end of the film i was just so sick of the action and the film and i was so glad that bruce willis gets shot, and decides to shoot himself and get shot some more, i was so glad that maybe finaly they kill of the character and that would be the last of the franchise. but the thought of him being alive still and there being a chance of future sequals... i almost cried inside."

"Live Free or Die Hard is a standard action flick. Well, maybe not standard. It's really over the top. The action scenes are almost cartoonish and very unbelievable. The villain is lame. He looks like he belongs on a soap opera. He's got nothing on Han Gruber (Die Hard). I wish we could have gotten more of Maggie Q., who played the evil sidekick. She was really good, she would have made a better lead villain. It's PG-13, so John McClane has the clamps on. He can't be the vulgar jerk we're used to. Is it the worst Die Hard? No. Is it as good as the first two? No. It is entertaining though. It's cool seeing these old guys (Rocky, Rambo, Indiana Jones, McClane) making watchable action movies again. If you just want to watch things get blown up, car crashes, Kevin Smith playing a basement nerd, and Bruce Willis getting bloody and dirty (Happens in every Die Hard), then you can spend your $9 on alot worse, like Fantastic Four.

This time out he's got a great new sidekick in the form of a young hacker who is every bit the smarmy, reluctant hero we've been missing since Die Harder. These wrong-place, wrong-time everyday folk make the perfect team of protagonists for the sequel to a series made famous for its top notch, bareknuckled action and more importantly, it's smart writing... with top notch blending of action-movie fantasy and gritty realism. Who can forget the moment in the first Die Hard, when you realized just how smart this kick ass action franchise could be, when the villain Hans Gruber intones "You wanted a miracle... Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you... the F.B.I..." This series hasn't let up since, and just because it's been awhile, don't expect this film to falter. The cyber terrorism plot is a perfect fit for McLains next gen return. The action may be all blissfully over the top, but the story is downright scary and convincing. All key players are expertly cast. Once again you have a quintessential Die Hard villain, one of the franchises' most stand-apart traits. Timothy Olyphant plays a scathingly cool hacker extraordinaire, bent on bringing the country to its knees through it modems. He is assisted by the stunning Maggie Q, the beautiful bad ass who gives McLain his best fight yet! Justin Long (You know...Mac Boy) is terrific as the uber geek turned action hero, equally balancing his sidekick duties with heroics of his own. The banter flies freely between the two, and it always rings true and genuine, and more importantly, damn funny. This kid could become a star... And Bruce Willis is still box office gold, this may be his best action film yet. I say keep 'em coming!!! Finally, the summer movie season of 2007 has begun! Live Free or Die Hard succeeds on every level; engaging story, superb writing, phenomenal acting, and the best darn roller coaster riding, fingernail biting, seat gripping action scenes of the summer!!!"
