"it keeps you at the edge of your seat waiting for a scare.

This maybe not scary whilst watching it but when your lying in bed you think about it and freak out over the tinniest creak or wind blowing on the window.

"Paranormal Activity"

"This movie was the only movie that scared me during day time. The pop-up moments were very intense, and the whole story would scare anyone. I don't recommend this movie to people that gets scared easily, or doesn't like horror movies about demons. It was suprising to find out that this movie was a low budget film. The movie was so well done! I viewed this movie during the evening, and I was scared. Never before have I been scared from a movie during the evening. Never. Thats proves something. All together, this movie has a very negative theme, and has a very terrifying series of events. Don't recommend this movie for any kids, only adults."

"Not bad!"

"This film was way better then I thought it would be. It was very intense in some parts and I wouldn't recommend it to people who get easily scared.

Is it scary? YES! This movie kept me up for the whole night.

The acting was great. The characters were very smart.

The one thing I don't like in this movie is that they both died in the end.

I am proud to say that this is the scariest movie of 2009

I look forward to the sequel.

OVERALL: 8.2/10"

"Paranormal Activity"

"Put a camera in a bedroom for three-quarters of a homemade film and there's plenty of "extra-curricular activity" to keep viewers on edge. However, in the case of this low-budget mokumentary by Israeli-born newcomer, Oren Peli, the only activity we're supposed to see - and believe for that matter - is the paranormal sort. Katie Featherston and Micah Sloater, a twenty-somethin couple from San Diego, conduct an investigation into the strange goings-on in their suburban style home. Micah is the film's trademark skeptic enjoying the humor of playing ghost-hunter, while Katie is the ever-cautious female lead, who had some experience with the supernatural when her child-hood home mysteriously burned down. Years later, she is hounded by a malevolent spector, which prompts Micah to gain evidence of the haunting on tape. The couple go so far as to consult a dubious psychic, but it is the introduction of a ouija board that launches the film towards a terrifying, sinister peak.

Paranormal Activity thrives on the power of suggestion. Footfalls in the dark, demonic voices on audio, and the occasional spontaeous door-slamming mimic the usual predecessors to the heart-stopping mainstream horror of a Hollywood blockbuster. On the other hand, the scenes that pit viewers with the tangible side of terror succeed only in stealing from the film's raw presentation of a genuine haunting. As a result, a midnight mad struggle down a hallway is immersed in hopeless cliche and likable to comic relief.

Nevertheless, the chemistry between the characters is decidedly credible, though the lack of interaction with the world outside their home makes them less like the every-day individuals viewers are supposed to relate to. Regardless, Peli casts his lead roles in a rare and praise-worthy style. Many classic films of the haunted-house genre (The Amityville Horror, The Shining, and The Changeling to name a few) feature a male character corrupted by a spirit (or spirits) which eventually drives them to the brink of insanity. Peli, however, goes down the same path as William Friedkin in the 1973 smash hit The Exorcist. Do not be mistaken - Katie Featherston is no Regan MacNeil, but her performance relishes in the tender side of the emotional trauma associated with supernatural encounters. Featherston's expression comes together as the only portion of the film evoking an understanding of the film's events, if not outright belief."

"Paranormal Activity"

"This movie is a MUST SEE for any scary movie lover. It was very well done from the lack of opening credits to the end, once again no credits. This was not the scariest movie I've ever seen, but definitley the creepiest. Chills ran up my back more times than I can count, and I had to remind myself multiple times it was just a movie. It was money well spent and I recommend it to any suspense, creepy or scary movie lover. Enjoy."

"Paranormal Activity"

"I finally got to see this very hyped up low budget horror flick known as Paranormal Activity and i must say....it was oook.

The film is all footage found by the police(they say)shot all in the hand held format surrounding the events that occur to this seemingly happy couple as they deal with a evil presence that is showing up in their home.

I won't spoil it for anyone, but this is definitely NOT the scariest movie ever....as some claim. It definitely has its moments of suspense when the evil presence shows up in odd ways in the dead of night. The film moves along nicely and i think it ends kind of well, in the wrapping things up sort of way.

What really makes you appreciate Paranormal Activity is the fact that it only cost 11,000 dollars to make it...total. The special effects are great for the budget and you have to give the team behind the film props for that.

I also liked how everyone in the theater kept it absolutely quite mostly throughout the film. That just gave it another element to me, there is usually some obnoxious people in every theater that ruin a movie. So that was cool.

Probably why everyone touts this film as the scariest ever is the fact that this stuff happens while you sleep(mainly, little spoiler)and that it could happen to you. That is really the only thing that you take home from the movie that creeps you out. Can't wait to get to bed....yeah right.

All in all i gave Paranormal Activity 4 outta 5 stars because i am not a fan of the whole movie being shot in hand held form but i was impressed with what was showcased on such a small budget and how big this movie has and will become with mainly word of mouth marketing it. Heck there is only one theater in the whole state i live in that is playing it, and there was lines out the door to see it. That tells you something there.

SEE THIS MOVIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
