Synopsis: "Skeeter Bronson (Adam Sandler) is a down-on-his-luck guy who's always telling bedtime stories to his niece and nephew. But his life is turned upside down when the fantastical stories he makes up for entertainment inexplicably turn into reality. Can a bewildered Skeeter manage his own unruly fantasies now that the outrageous characters and situations from his mind have morphed into actual people and events?" "Cool imagination""who ever made this film had alot of imagination i also thought it was very funny and very good for kids now parents know what stories to tell their kids in bed" by harrison999 on Mon Aug 30th, 2010 0 Comments | Reply | Report"Bedtime Stories""The movie bedtime stories is more of a family comedy movie. I think it was really good and quite funny and a good movie for the whole family to enjoy. I definatly give this movie a thumbs up and i would reccomend it to anyone looking for a good movie to watch with the family. I didn't find anything that dissapointed me in this movie it was all excellent.Adam Sandler never lets you down in any of his movies." by littleman6 on Tue Jul 14th, 2009 0 Comments | Reply | Report"Bedtime Stories""This is the first attempt for Adam Sandler to really make a movie for his own kids to watch. The closest thing has been Click, but that is not completely for kids, especially younger ones. The movie centers around Sandler who agrees to watch his niece and nephew for a week. He tells them bedtime stories about gladiators, dragons, and space. However, those stories start to become true. The only catch is the kids’ parts come true, not Sandler’s. And so the rest of the movie is him trying to get the kids to wish certain things upon him like getting a fancy car or lots of money. He soon finds out what is most important: family. The movie has its strengths. It is funny. Not real funny, but will make you chuckle a few times. I did like how the movie makes you think its fantasies coming to life, but that is not completely true. It’s all in his head really. He thinks he knows what is suppose to happen, but really he is finally making the choices he should have made a long time ago. He just needed some help. And now we get to its weaknesses. Sandler is still Sandler in this, and that is not a compliment. I understand it’s a kids’ movie, but he acts like the same person in almost every movie whether its for kids or not. I know he can act because we have seen Spanglish and Punch Drunk Love. Or I hope you have. But it’s a tired routine that adds nothing to the movie. I hate to say this because it is a movie for kids, but I think adults should be included. We all know movies can be targeted for adults and children. It can be smart and funny all at the same time. But this one is not. Of course, it’s over-the-top, but its cheesy as well. It goes for cheap laughs and has a very predictable plot. You can only laugh at the guinea pigs eyes for so long. When I left the theatre I thought to myself: “I should have just rented it.†And that is probably what the rest of you should do. By ROBERT WALDMAN Laughs come forth loud and clear in Bedtime Stories, the latest Adam Sandler triumph. Rapid fire jokes aimed at kids are the order of the day in this Disney treat now lighting up eyes at Tinseltown (on Pender, free parking), Oakridge Cinemas, Esplanade 6, Colossus, Empire Studio 12 and Famous Players Silver City cites around B.C. Being in a family business can be trying. Born to the son of a hotelier all Skeeter Bronson wanted was to follow in good old dad’s footsteps. When the hotel in the Bronson family gets bought up by a rich tycoon our poor Skeeter is relegated to handyman status. Somewhat of a loser, Skeeter has only himself to blame. When he comes reluctantly to the aid of sister Wendy by taking her two kids on as a babysitter something rather unusual occurs. Not used to caring for small children Skeeter takes up the challenge with the aid of Jill, one of Wendy’s closest confidants. During one evening at sleep time Skeeter tells your standard story but some rather odd things occur afterwards. Much to his surprise the very next day those tall tales come to life. Imagine the chaos and possible ramifications that could ensue. Sandler is in complete control with the shenanigans here egged on by two delightful child actors. Being able to poke fun at themselves is a class act with leading man Guy Pearce (L.A. Confidential) perfectly suited as a snobby hotel executive and Richard Griffiths (The History Boys) well cast as a rich buffoon. Wild imagination takes off as we are left laughing at the ridiculous dreams that become reality. Director Adam Shankman (The Wedding Planner) pulls off a tight joy ride that the little ones should particularly enjoy. Add on a nice moral towards story’s end and Bedtime Stories makes for fun family time at the movies.
