Synopsis: "A raucous trip to a Las Vegas concert veers off course for four friends (Nick Zano, Kyle Schmid, Nicki Aycox and Laura Jordan) when their car sputters to a stop and they're forced to steal another ride. But they have no way of knowing they'd be ticking off a vengeful trucker with homicidal tendencies. The man's ominous-sounding nickname is Rusty Nail -- and, as it turns out, he comes by it honestly." "Joy Ride 2: Dead Ahead""Joy Ride 2 is another in a growing trend of horror sequels that uses a completely renovated cast. The original horror classic Joy Ride had a nice cast that included Paul Walker, Leelee Sobieski. Joy Ride 2 follows the same general premise as its predecessor. It presents an ensemble of four characters who encounter the psycho truck driver Rusty Nail and when a member of the group is kidnapped, the remaining characters must go through a series of tests to track him. The follow up was decent on intensity and horror for a lower budget sequel. We are disappointed in the growing sensationalism in torture and violence that is taking over horror films these days. New levels of brutality and torture combined with advanced graphics, make it tougher even for the veteran horror fan to tolerate. All told, we are mixed on the entertainment value of Joy Ride 2. If you like intensity and don't mind the brutal violence, it is probably for you." by movieroomreview on Sun Oct 12th, 2008 0 Comments | Reply | Report |
