"Brad Pitt defiantly comes through on this very unusual film plot. Clearly it demonstrates a point of view of what it would be like to live your life going backwards in the growth cycle. Its quite intriguing with the way this film demonstrated all the characteristics of the values of what life is like in the shoes of the main character. All the challenges a person must face in life would have to be realized in way that all people would never have to face.Highly recommend this great movie to anyone who wants to be a great movie with good acting and great plot, with all the contributions of a great story with love, adventure."

"The story is quite unique and despite the fact that being born looking like a 100-year-old and getting younger as you grow up is far from realistic, the emotions and characters were very realistic and you can really relate with them a lot of the time.

Cate Blanchett is absolutely gorgeous as Daisy, I really loved her in this movie and it made me like her much more than usual. Brad Pitt was great too; I've never been a fan of his, but I've had to change my opinion a bit lately after watching this movie and another one with him recently.

The make-up is really realistic too, which I appreciate a whole lot; often, my movie experience is ruined when the make-up or something else does not look realistic, because it makes me think "oh yeah, this is just a movie and these are all actors pretending to be something they're not." However, the make-up for Brad Pitt in this movie is really good and you can't really tell it's make-up. This helps to not mind the unrealisticness of the story itself.

All in all, I loved the movie because it plunges so deep into human emotions and tells a beautiful story which is not all about love and happiness."

" This movie was about a man that is born under uusual circumstances. He is born looking like he is 100 yrs. old on the outside, but on the inside he is only a newborn. As time goes by he gets younger and the film follows him as he does many things that include being a tugboat crewman and meeting the love of his life. The film goes up to present day and even includes Hurricaine Katrina tearing up New Orleans outside.

I absolutely love the style and art direction of this film. It really captures the mood and essence of itself making the audience get into the story more. This also should be nominated and win the best make-up oscar because of its detailed and stunning art work on all its charecters especially Brad Pitt. I could even see this movie being nominated for best picture. Its a lot like Forrest Gump but this one's atmosphere is more odd and strange.

There are a couple faults to this movie though.

The runtime is 2 hrs. and 48 min. long and the beginnig is rather slow. There is a few scenes where this random woman, played by Tilda Swinton, comes into the mix. She has an affair with Benjamin and then just leaves. I felt like her charecter was somewhat not needed as much.

I highly reccommend this movie and overall, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button is really good and, in my opinion, the second best movie of the year."

"The story is unique, the acting is great.But let's be clear. This is NOT a love story. This is a story about a man's selfish desires to live his life on his terms regardless of those around him. He has no problem sharing his bed with whores and married women. And when he finally does connect with the "love of his life" and finds out she's having his baby, he runs off to go backpacking through India becasue he thinks it's best for everyone.And in the end when he has no where else to run, he comes back to the family that he abandoned so that they can take care of him.The fact that people try and pass this movie off as a story of love and devotion is astonishing to me."

"Surreal fantasy tale that is a cross between "The Notebook" and "Forrest Gump"--only with less of a story, and more predictability. Should win the Oscar for Best Costumes and Best Make-Up, with Cate Blanchett a longshot to get the Best Actress. One very interesting subplot, and one mildly interesting one...will not/should not get the Oscar for Best Editing, as 10-20 minutes could easily have been cut out of the movie with a very long beginning. Solid screenwriting can bring the best out of people. Creative craftsman Eric Roth pulls off a monumental tale of “advancing” age in The Curios Case of Benjamin Button, one of the most original films in years. Paramount Pictures seems headed for Oscar gold thanks to this triumph of the spirit now uplifting souls at Scotiabank Theatre, Fifth Avenue Cinemas, Esplanade 6, Empire Studio 12, Colossus and Famous Players Silver City cites across B.C.

Told in a brilliant flashback style, director David Fincher (Se7en) sets course to explore the coming of age of a fellow named Benjamin. New Orleans sure has seen its share of setbacks over the years. Pile on to this dismal record the birth of a young boy with a face like an old geezer. Thus Benjamin enters the world. Unloved and unaccepted due to this facial abnormally it’s not surprising that many would look away from this “freak” of nature. Love, however, comes this tot’s way when he’s adopted by Queenie, a black woman who runs some kind of home.

Where The Curios Case of Benjamin Button triumphs is how it shows this person go from an old man to a young boy. Brilliant acting recounts Benjamin’s rather tumultuous life. Along the way uncanny dialogue explores the whole aging process in reverse with Brad Pitt (Meet Joe Black) sensational as the boy wonder having to grapple with an unknown past, secret loves and missing parents.

Equally captivating are the performances given off by Taraji P. Henson (Hustle & Flow) who blows everyone else off the screen as Benjamin’s new mom Queenie and Cate Blanchett (Elizabeth) who dances up a storm as Daisy, one of Benjamin’s lady friends.

Just a touch long at 2 ½ hours The Curios Case of Benjamin Button is nevertheless a bold look into a man’s life and the way world events along with small family matters collide. Fincher here gives us a breathtaking tale full of romance, mystery and a life odyssey second to none.

"This movie is quite curious, indeed. But it's also devouring in it's rich storytelling: The gorgeous storytelling of a old woman recalling her past by the means of a curious old friend, Mr. Benjamin Button.

I am in no position to tell you what happens at the end, or even during this film, but it's quite a masterpiece of the arts. What seems a strange story turns into a beautiful tale of love, life, and the passing of age. Instead of being born as a normal baby, Benjamin is born as an old man, with the knowledge of a baby. He is unloved by his parents because of his old-man looks, and is left on a doorstep shortly after he is born. The African-American family living in the home, find him on their doorstep one day, and lovingly welcome him into their home. Next thing you see is Benjamin living as an old man, with everyone around him perfectly normal. They treat him normally and lovingly. However, the only problem becomes the fact that everyone around him is constantly changing, however Benjamin is the complete opposite. Instead of getting gray hair and wrinkles, Benjamin already has them and is loosing them! One day, as Benjamin becomes younger, he runs into one of his longtime childhood friends, Daisy, with whom he remembers sharing memories and firsts together. He reunites with her, and finds himself getting married to her and having a child. The problem of opposite aging results in becoming a problem again, since Benjamin cannot be a father to a child, if he is growing into a child himself! The result is rather sad and gloomy, but tells the tale of an interesting, and CURIOUS tale.

"The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" is an interesting movie. It's almost perfect in every way in being a period-drama. The storytelling is phenomenal, the whole look and feel of the film is very classic, the colors and scenery are rich and full of color, and the actors truly give the piece no shame, seeing as how Brad Pitt perfectly portrays wisdom, mannerisms, and personality of an old man growing young. Cate Blanchett does a good job as well (the first role I actually like her in), and the rest of the cast serve as good supporting roles. The only things truly detracting from this period piece is the fact that it's clocking in at almost 3 hours; 3 very long hours, seeing as how this is a drama and not something as happy-going like a comedy or action flick. It's also difficult enjoying a 3 hour-long movie that is gloomy and depressing, making you leave the theater a little sad, and not quite as joyous as you were going into the theater.

But despite any sad feelings, the film is great at achieving it's goal: And that is telling the tale of an interesting charactuer, a person who is different from everyone else, and the challenges he must overcome as he deals with this difference. It teaches you the importance of love, and how love is everlasting, no matter whatever the circumstances. It's a creative film; a TRUE masterpiece of the arts (not something like "No Country For Old Men"). When you think of what a good and teaching film, this film is almost perfect. It teaches you life lessons in just it's tremendous story-telling alone. It's one of those films that will be recognized 20 years from now, and will be said, "Wow, that's one of those great all-time films". It's just one of those truly remarkable films that goes through the eras, teaching people of all ages. It's not hear to entertain or amuse, but simply to state it's story and share this truly odd, yet amazing story of a man going back in time. It's one of the classics, and Brad Pitt deserves every award he's being mentioned for.

Don't expect to go see "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" and feel happy and satisfied afterwards. Instead your going to feel as if you've just seen a film that has an impact on your outlook on life, and how important it is to cherish the loved ones you spend time with. I hope this great film gets an award; It's too gosh dang creative, and is a masterpiece. It makes you think about life.

Scott Fitgerald's 1922 short story, "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button," in which a man ages backwards, does not begin to suggest the urgent drama and romantic fatalism that director David Fincher and writers Eric Roth and Robin Swicord have so strikingly brought to the screen in the movie version. Fitzgerald's story is little more than a plot gimmick. Yet the film transforms this gimmick into an epic tale that contemplates the wonders of life -- of birth and death and, most of all, love.
