Synopsis: "Doormat Wesley Gibson (James McAvoy) discovers that his recently murdered father -- who Wesley never knew -- belonged to a secret guild of assassins. After a leather-clad sexpot (Angelina Jolie) drafts Wesley into the society, he hones his innate killing skills and turns avenger. Chicago is the backdrop for this hyperkinetic thriller also starring Morgan Freeman as the enigmatic figure leading the brotherhood of executioners." "Lot's of action, overuse of digital technology.""Not the best Angelina Jolie movie I've ever seen, but it's out there. Plenty of blood, action, and slow motion, this is a good movie to see if you're in a mindless action mood. The beginning was questionable, with the use of the word "pussy" coming up several times and overuse of the F-word. I almost lost interest in the movie when it came to the two sex scenes at the beginning. Although, of course Angelina Jolie came along and saved me from clicking the remote to something else. She captivated my attention and kept me watching. The epic chase scene that resulted from her first appearance in the movie was what really kept me watching. In the end I was glad that I did, as the plenty of action scenes and ample amounts of twists and turns kept me on the edge of my seat throughout the movie. I throughly enjoyed it and it is definitely among one of the better action movies out there." by Eminem4eva on Sat Aug 28th, 2010 0 Comments | Reply | Report"Wanted"" This movie is just what you would think it is based from the commercials, a typical action film. Taking that into account I still enjoyed the film because even though the story lacked brains and heart the over the top action sequences were entertaining enough. This is a movie for all of those people who are action junkies who can get past the lack of a great story even though there is a story to this film. Now the story is about a man named Wesley who has no motivation to live the life hes living and feels he is supposed to something other than what he is doing in life. Whenever he gets into a hostile situation he gets these overwhelming feelings which he thinks is anxiety in which he takes medicine for it. What he doesn't understand is that its something that he has within him to allow him to assess the situation at hand. Picking up his medicine he runs into the beautiful Angelina Jolie who plays Fox a member of a group of assassins that have been around for a thousand years and tells him that his father was killed by a rogue assassin and that assassin is after him at that moment. The organization which is run by the great Morgan Freeman trains him and helps him to stop the killer and allow him to get his revenge. I don't want to give away details to spoil the movie but its the type of action movie that starts off fast and keeps going never slowing down til the credits show. Tons of greatly inventive action sequences and stunts but no deeply felt story like in The Dark Knight or even Iron Man. They casted some great actors in the roles and they do well enough as the script would allow them to show personality and to get you to feel for them but its not the type to win any oscars or awards for the acting or even best film of the year but it is still entertaining and is definitely for the action lovers. " by moviemantilidie on Tue Jul 22nd, 2008 0 Comments | Reply | Report"Wanted""For this movie, I really don’t know where to start. I’ve just seen it and I have to admit that I’m simply dazzled. Wanted is the kind of movie that simply blows your mind away, and, if you ask me, it’s going to be one of this summer’s blockbusters. So, let’s take this movie piece by piece. The plot is intricate, and the characters develop throughout the movie. Wesley Gibson (James McAvoy) is an accounts manager who works all day long in a cubical, has no self respect, whose girlfriend cheats on him, in other words, a man who doesn’t have a life. One day, Fox (Angelina Jolie) changes his life, telling him that his father was an assassin who was murdered, and that now he has to avenge his father. Wesley is trained and becomes a professional assassin, but he later finds out that he was actually tricked into killing his own father. The man behind this is the Fraternity’s leader, Sloan (Morgan Freeman). Finally, Wesley will take his revenge on Sloan. Now, let’s analyze the pro’s and con’s. The pro’s: the action is absolutely great and keeps you glued to your seat, and your heart races to see the next scene. The special effects are absolutely awesome, and the stunts which are pulled are absolutely mind blowing. James McAvoy’s performance is absolutely great, he evolves from an ordinary man to a professional assassin right under the viewer’s eyes. The storyline is intriguing and I have to say that I didn’t get the chance to get bored, which happens with lots of the movies which are made nowadays. The con’s: well, uhm…. this is kind of difficult. I can say that the characters of Sloan (Morgan Freeman) and Fox (Angelina Jolie) were a bit underdeveloped, but that’s understandable because otherwise the movie would have lasted too long. Concerning the special effects, I have to admit that certain things to be way out there and impossible, but to my mind they just give spice to the movie and make it amazing. To conclude, if you like action movies, with special effects, great fighting scenes and lots of adrenaline, then Wanted is the movie for you. As far as I’m concerned, this movie just made my day. My rating: 10/10" by alexius on Thu Jul 10th, 2008 0 Comments | Reply | Report"Wanted""This movie is intense. I could not Belive the things that happened in this movie.
