"Are you all fired up for this awesome cheerleading movie?!?!?!? well you better not be. Their website(if you've heard it) is the truth. It is so much more than a cheerleading movie. 2 guys,(wont say their names!) are football stars, and they just want to be around girls. The one joke"WE-ARE-DRIVING-WE-WE-ARE-DRIVING!I think we died and went to heaven.No, we would have heard WE-ARE-CRASHING-WE-WE-ARE-CRASHING" is only the beginning. Again, it is a pg-13 movie, so it has alot of adult humor(not that 12 year-olds go on her). If you don't get some of the jokes, its just not funny.I added the movie's website if you really want to see it. I went with a bunch of friends and I was alughing the whole movie. You definitely have to see this. Everyone would like this movie, not just a certain type of person. GO-SEE-THIS-MOVIE-GO-GO-SEE-THIS-MOVIE!!!"

Sports takes a back seat to rooting for your favourites in Fired Up, a hilarious bit of sophomoric nonsense from Columbia Pictures now winning over converts at Tinseltown (on Pender, free parking), Empire Studio 12, Colossus and Famous Players Silver City theatres around B.C. Grab your honey (and your money) and get set for laughs a minute as romance gets played for laughs big time in this crowd pleaser.

Return to your college years and focus in on team sports. Back in those days it was the quarterback that always used to get the girl. Well, as Bob Dylan used to say, the times they are a changing. Ace Tigers players Shawn Colfax and Nick Brady seem to have it all as top performers on the squad. Every time they roam the halls at college girls galore look to be drooling over their every move. Lucky is with these guys. News that the summer training camp is set for El Paso, Texas has these two yahoos up in arms. When they learn that a coveted cheerleading competition is happening closer to home and that there are 300 young ladies set to attend it doesn’t take long for the two to change their plans.

So it’s off to the Illinois Cheerleaders championships the boys go. Not all the team participants are happy with their inclusion, in particular the school squad leader Carly. Once down at the training camp these two young men stick out like a soar thumb. It’s only a matter of time, however, for the boys to adapt to the situation and vice versa as the different sexes seem to be getting know each other just a touch better as the minutes count down.

Full of spunk and fun Fired Up is a hilarious joy ride showing how two oversexed guys can somehow manage to adapt to a more than eager group of female sporting participants. Nice athletic routines come in second place to the after hours shenanigans and rivalries that our two sad sacks manage to fall into. Both Nicholas D’Agusto (Election) and Eric Christian Olsen (Eagle Eye) are flat out hilarious as the two men drowning in a sea of women. Actor turned director Will Gluck just lets these guys run wild and the results are on the print as the screen lights up with hilarious jokes, great pranks, and dare I say even genuine chemistry on screen between all the actors. You sense the great rivalry and will be rooting for the good guys all the way.

Politically correct, no! Insanely humorous, yes. Each character here is obviously stereotypical but milked to the nth degree. Very funny is Sarah Roemer from Disturbia as Carly with Molly Sims (Starksy & Hutch) also quite an eyeful as Diore one of the “older” women at this training camp for cheerleaders.

Out to appeal to the folks who like the Superbad and Animal House movies Fired Up is a rollicking good time with tons of belly laughs poking fun at male female relationships, dating, oversized jocks and insane jealousies. No profession is left unscathed once this mob gets their hands on them in this laugh filled jaunt that delivers the goods for 90 minutes without catching its breath. "
