"The movie imagine that was kind of strange in the beggining and started off kind of crazy but as it went on it started to get better. It was a good movie with a great ending. Also the little girl is asorable however the storyline was somewhat boring for a family movie but i thought it was pretty good and would give it a thumbs up. It was a good movie that could put a smile on your face."

Proud Papa!

Nice and easy does it. Able to relate to children is an asset and an obvious necessity for parents. Funnyman Eddie Murphy continues his winning ways with kids during Imagine That, a full enjoyable story from Paramount Films and Nickelodeon now striking the right chord at Tinseltown, Esplanade 6, Empire Studio 12, Colossus and Famous Players Silver City arenas across B.C.

Imagine having a fun filled story without having to resort to special effects or foul language. Director Karey Kirkpatrick (Over the Hedge) takes us inside a rather messed up family. Busy at work single father Evan seems more preoccupied with high finance than the welfare of his daughter Ella, a bright eyed seven year old. Ella spends her time between dad and mom as the parents are separated.

Chilton school is where Ella goes to learn but her father ends up perhaps learning ever more. Over time job pressures weigh down heavily on Evan as he faces tough competition from hot shot newcomer Whitefeather, a first nations descendent with a rather interesting boardroom style. Imagine That looks at the relationship between Evan and his co-workers at work and between the yuppy businessman and his daughter.

Children often live in a make believe never never land and when Evan learns his daughter might possess some unique powers he clearly does his best to harness that energy. Against this backdrop the jokes pile up and the warmth between family members gets ramped up in his wonderful tale of loyalty, trust and hope.

Eddie Murphy (Beverly Hills Cop) is great as the messed up dad with newcomer Talen Ruth Riley terrific in her debut work here. Laughs galore also come by way of Thomas Haden Church (Spider-Man 3) whose over the top portrayal of an Indian descendent will have people rolling in the aisles.

Sweet and cheery, Imagine That has lots of warmth, just the right pacing and another engaging performance from family man Eddie Murphy. Even though you just know how this movie’s going to in a mile away Imagine That is still a lot of fun and great family fare to view and a pretty good comedy to boot. Little kids, especially girls, will really like this film and older folk looking for a nice light weight warm and fuzzy comedy will also appreciate the characters and this story.
