Synopsis: "In this sequel to Twilight (based on Stephenie Meyer's popular novels), Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) is reeling from the departure of her vampire love, Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson), and finds comfort in her friendship with Jacob Black (Taylor Lautner). Before she knows it, she's thrust into a centuries-old conflict, torn between the memory of her one, true love and the affections of her best friend. " "BEST MOVIE EVER!!!!""I am not joking when i mean best movie ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" by twifan on Mon Jun 28th, 2010 0 Comments | Reply | Report"WOW!!!""I loved this movie! It was ten times better than Twilight. Here's why: 1. There was more humor. It wasn't so serious and dark and the quirky one liners had me in stitches. 2. Jacob chopped his locks. What a relief! 3. Jacob's body. One word: HOT! 4. Jacob's body! 5. Jacob's body! 6. And did I mention Jacob's body?? Something about it was just better. It was much more gripping and I couldn't take my eyes off the screen. 5 stars for sure!" by angel on Thu Jun 17th, 2010 0 Comments | Reply | Report"Bad Monn Rising""Do not get me wrong I really liked this movie however it was no where near as good as Twilight. I expected a lot more, there were to many love scenes and not enough story. The movie followed the book well. With that said I will not tell friends not to see New Moon, but I will tell them it could have been a hell of lot better." by VampireLeah on Mon Mar 22nd, 2010 0 Comments | Reply | Report"Twilight was Better""I happened to love New Moon but that's probably because I'm so obssesssed with gods, wizards, vampires and werwolves. My take was,"It was the worst movie ever,it totaly ruined my life,i loved it". I reccomendyou DO NOT,UNDER ANY SERCUMSTANCES,watch it in 3D." by britany1002 on Sat Feb 13th, 2010 0 Comments | Reply | Report"PAINFUL""The quintessential vampire movie, yes, because the life has truly been sucked out of this vapid, vacant corpse of a film. Kristen Stewart's empty characterization made me want to howl, "Who cares?!" Robert Pattinson, though beautiful, was about as substantial as a puff pastry. Only Edward had any appeal whatsoever, but I'm not sure if this was a result of his abs, the special effects or his blinding white teeth. I kept waiting for something interesting to occur, but sadly, the only fun I had was watching the credits roll at the end so that I could flee." by talk2me on Sat Jan 23rd, 2010 0 Comments | Reply | Report"Good""I found it really good but that might just be because twilight was terrible. It may not be the best movie but after the warning of twilight i and you should be well pre-pared." by ashleigh256 on Sun Jan 3rd, 2010 0 Comments | Reply | Report"New Moon""So why would I want to go see a movie like this, the biggest chick flick of the year? Why would I go see a movie that has two guys shirtless and a girl stuck in the middle who doesn't know what to do? Well, because "Twilight" wasn't bad and this one, "New Moon," turns out to be good. Guys, I'm serious. It's really not terrible. The story is a love triangle between Jake, Edward, and Bella. Bella is a normal (i guess) girl who is just turning 18. Edward is a vampire dude who leaves her because he wants to protect her. Bella starts crying like a little baby and starts sulking in her chair while staring out the window for four months. Then she finds Jake who is able to turn into a warewolf. Jake basically replaces Edward for a while until Bella misses Edward and tries to save him from killing himself because he thinks Bella is gone. The main reason this girly vampire flick is actually good is because Kristen Stewart and Rob Pattinson are so good together. They have great emotional chemistry throughout and help fill the movie with depth. I'd have to say Pattinson is a little better than Stewart because when she is acting by herself her real talent doesn't show as much. She's always shaking her head and blinking her eyes really fast. Taylor Lautner is good as Jake even though he can over emphasize his words at times. The special-effects are way better than they were in the first of the series. The way the warewolves transformed really caught my eye. In fact, almost everything about the movie is a notch or two better than the first one. The writing, especially. It's not as "mushy gushy" or "lubby dubby" and I wasn't rolling my eyes as much. I think this film is a lot more mature along with the supporting cast. The entire ensemble was still trying to figure out how they should act in "Twilight" but in "New Moon" they finally sink into their roles. The first 30 minutes of the film are pretty slow and depressing. Especially when Bella is at the window and there's that creepy voice singing "There's a possibility." Again, when Stewart is by herself a lot towards the beginning of the movie her acting is not as good as it is with other people supporting her. The actor who plays her dad is terrible. I felt like like I was watching a badly made for T.V. movie when he was on screen. The atmosphere of "New Moon" isn't intriguing until after the first half hour when emotion starts to build up and a interesting conflict starts. You've got to hand to Pattinson here as he is the key actor in this series. He knows his role well and really helps flesh out the movie. I thought the Volturi at the end of the film was intense and smartly written. Dakota Fanning is surprisingly good along with Michael Sheen despite their roles being relatively small. All in all, any guy or anybody who hasn't seen this should give it a chance. If you don't try to fight the fact that it's a chick flick you'll probably end up liking it." by willyt on Mon Dec 28th, 2009 0 Comments | Reply | Report"It is simply a comfort movie.""I'm not a Twilight fanatic, nor am I a hater (like most of you). I think this movie was decent. It certainly is no where close to Dark Knight or Star Wars, or, for the romantic, A Walk to Remember, but it is good. The acting is much better than the first, which is a plus- it's less awkward and more relaxing. I'd also say when you watch it, think like a teenager. Leave behind a realistic world and imagine Twilight. Really, don't be a hater or a fanatic, simply, just a reviewer." by klewis216 on Sun Dec 27th, 2009 0 Comments | Reply | Report"This is an great movie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!""Twilight was such a great movie I can't wait for the next movie!!!!!!!!!!!!" by GothGirl121 on Mon Dec 21st, 2009 0 Comments | Reply | Report"new moon? horrible""not the best movie it was terrible" by chapo121 on Sun Dec 6th, 2009 0 Comments | Reply | Report"What Happen To Great Scripting?""Ok so the books were great reads, but just because it looks great on paper dosn't mean that it will sound good on screen. I think that the writers for this movie were so scared of the twi-fans that they didn't even touch the dialouge for this movie. Ok guys let me explain something just because we can read Bella's thoughts in the book dosn't mean that we can read Kristen Stewart face in the movie, oh yeah and puting thoughts in letters to Alice to cover up the fact that your actors need lessons in facial expressions does not cut it sorry. Oh and a nother thing, when a book says somthing abouth a person being beautiful beyond recognition it dosn't mean that you put shiny powder on their faces, it means you soup up your make-up department and make you answers beautiful beyon recognition!!!!! Dakota Fanning is cute but you guys could have done a much better job. And that is just the tip of the ice burge on how you screwed up this movie, but im getting carple tunnle from all the comments I have for this movie, so I'm hoping that you will get the gist of this review unless you can't read and then that would really explain why you messed up in the first place." by chosen5623 on Sat Dec 5th, 2009 0 Comments | Reply | Report"What garbage.""I'm sorry, but watching bad actors pose for the camera with constipated looks on their faces is not my idea of entertainment. With most of the action given to us in the 30 second t.v. commercial, the movie is just an endless stream of bad, overly melodramatic angst-driven drivel. Get on with it already!! This flick makes the worst day-time soap opera seem like an action movie!!" by Fudgeman on Mon Nov 30th, 2009 0 Comments | Reply | Report"Meh""A a simple 9 words can summarize my review for "The Twilight Saga:New Moon". Those words are: New Moon does not live up to its hype. This anticipated sequal has terrible acting, okay visuals and poor story. First off, Kristen Stewart needs acting lessons. Practicly the whole movie she stood with a blank stare on her face. After Robert Pattinson leaves her (but who wouldnt with her acting skills), she goes into pure depression for 3 months. This just proves my point how bad her acting in this movie was. The visuals were fair at moments such as when Jacob Black (Taylor Lautner) miraculously turns into a werewolf. Other parts such as when Laurent the vampire ran, made the visuals look horrible. The story made me want to puke. Edward leaves, she starts to fall for Jacob, but gets back together with Edward in the end. Ugh. I would not reccomend going to see this movie, for those reasons. And the added reason that whenever Jacob has his shirt off every girl in the theatre starts to whistle." by coynekid17 on Sat Nov 28th, 2009 0 Comments | Reply | Report"Pointless!!""WOW! This movie was the exact same as the first one except with a different guy. Throughout the whole movie your waiting for something interesting to happen but still nothing I honestly do not see what is so "amazing" about these movies." by littleman6 on Sat Nov 28th, 2009 0 Comments | Reply | Report"Better than the first one""My girlfriend and I are in our twenties and she dragged me to both of these "for the lolz." The first one I saw in the theater while I was sobering up. This time a friend torrented both and we watched them at their place, with drinks. I'm not sure if it was the beer, the fact that I spent most of the movie surfing the web, or that the cam-job came with a laugh track and cut off most of the werewolf-dude's head, making him pretty easy on the eyes, but this one seemed significantly better. By "better" of course, I mean less terrible. Seriously, the plot, script, and directing all contribute to making these movies unwatchable. The movie really focuses around the creators' perceptions of what it means to be an angsty teen, and I found this to be well characterized by the various drinking games I found online. If you don't know anything about the Twilight series, you could do worse than to try to glean insight from reading rules such as "Drink when Edward tells Bella to stay away from him, then stalks her anyway" or "Drink when Bella bitches and whines about something for no reason." Take this into consideration when weighing how much you really like your girlfriend." by okted on Thu Nov 26th, 2009 1 Comments | Reply | Report"New Moon Average""At The Movies The Twilight Saga: New Moon (PG) * * * Director: Chris Weitz Stars: Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner Genre: Drama Audience Suitability: PG Rating: * * * Studio: E1 Films Release Date: Nov. 17, 2009 Running Time: 130 Minutes Love Squeeze! By ROBERT WALDMAN My original title for this piece was supposed to read threesome. Not wanting to scare away any younger readers the case of a woman torn between two lovers is at the heart of The Twilight Saga: New Moon. Again Summit Entertainment and E1 are set to rake in zillions of dollars for the second installment of the Stephenie Meyer novels. Big line-ups need to be braved to get in on all the fun at Empire Oakridge Cinemas, Empire Studio 12, Colossus and Famous Players Silver City sites around B.C. Never take the female audience for granted. Do so at your own peril. Fans of the first Twilight movie will not be disappointed as we are reunited with the original cast. Heartthrob Robert Pattinson, fresh off a rather lukewarm performance as Salvador Dali in the little seen Little Ashes, returns to familiar territory as mysterious Edward Cullen. By birth a vampire the Cullen clan has largely retreated to the hinterland leaving poor Bella Swan, the human girl, in a continual state of depression and frayed nerves. She is sick big time for this hunk and again Kristen Stewart (Adventureland) runs with the part. TAYLOR LAUTNER SETS TEMPERATURES SOARING AS CARING WEREWOLF Teenage girls obviously can relate to the romantic elements of this film and they are in abundance. Besides being homesick and lovesick for the ever pouting ashen faced Edward our Ms. Swan also gets a tad closer to her other homegrown friend Jacob Black. Aboriginal blood runs through this strapping lad’s veins and as depicted by handsome Taylor Lautner (Cheaper by the Dozen 2) you can almost sense the hormones hopping. Removal of a shirt here and there by Lautner clearly is intended to excite girls and that he does. Fans of the series and books should know by now that Jacob represents the wolf clan while Edward lays claim to a vampire throne. Finally, after one hour of waiting, we get to see some action as the werewolf beasts and nasty vampires show their claws and fangs in this beautifully shot, nicely developed love triangle. Director Chris Weitz (About a Boy) succeeds in creating a great Harlequin Romance type story with tragic figures. Teens who have endured problems with sexual relationships will clearly be able to identify with the mood swings and lust trails that impact all the central youthful characters here. Parents also get to share in the festive offerings as being raised by a single dad also impacts the already messed up Bella. Shot in and around Vancouver, British Columbia The Twilight Saga: New Moon has a gloomy, wet atmosphere that perfectly fits the somber mood of this story. Unlike other blockbusters its really character development that plays a central role in this movie with the actual special effects creations that generate the vampire flights and werewolf attacks few in number and appearing very late in the game. Slight bits of humour also creep into the script that makes this second outing a nice pick-me-up from the first surprise hit. ROBERT PATTINSON GETS UNDEREXPOSED in NEW TWILIGHT Girls wanting to see more of the lead star, Robert Pattinson, will be sorely disappointed as most of his scenes are done in a dream-like sequence with Taylor Lautner clearly taking centre stage as the new love interest of Bella. What makes the whole movie successful, however, revolves around the intense emotional rollercoaster suffered by Bella. Under lots of tension and stress originating from ruptured love affairs Kristen Stewart is easily the glue that holds this story together. Without the intensity of Ms. Stewart’s emotional conflicts The Twilight Saga: New Moon may have well stalled. Look for the third film in the series (that has already been shot), to hit screens next spring with an even bigger bang. I think New Moon was outstanding! All of the actors and actresses acted just like vampires, mortals and warewolves. I highly recommend seeing this movie! The only down point is that at the end of this movie Edward asks Bella to marry him in return of him changing Bella into a vampire as a promise to the Voulturi. Bella gasps and does not answer, I suppose the answer will be in the next movie Eclipse. Again I highly recommend you see this movie!" by shopgrl on Wed Nov 25th, 2009 1 Comments | Reply | Report |
