"Rubbish movie"

"Very disappointed in this movie, it was so unbelievably bad that I actually wanted to walk out but couldn't as my friend was enjoying it so I guess each to their own. I agree with the other reviewer who put that all the funny bits were in the trailer which spoilt the film as there wasn't any else that was remotely funny, quite cheesy and painful to watch at times. The story line and characters were weak. The people that seemed to enjoy it in my movie theatre were 12-14 year olds!!! Don't waste your money, you will be disappointed."

"Brilliant cast, mediocre script, but totally worth it!"

"As with many of Adam Sandler comedies you will sit to watch this one with eagre anticipation, and rightly so. Whilst he is a fantastic comedian he is also a class actor and as always he delivers yet again in this laugh out loud gross out comedy flick. Kevins James is his usual hilarious full of energy and life character and he rebounds with Sandler like very few comedy duos do. David Spade is relatively unknown to the wider UK audience, but his one liners and whimsickle sideline comments are brilliantly timed and executed. You will have a real sense of male comradery whilst watching this film, a feeling I haven't had watching a film since 'Stand By Me' when I was a child. I had the sense that the written script was quickly scrapped or not used to it's full potential as the cast would have quickly taken over and had way too much fun tearing each other apart with one liners. The breast milk joke was taken to far and has been done better by 'Meet The Parents/Fockers'. Rob Schneider carries on in true 'Deuce Bigalow' style with the gross out part's for the whole movie and Chris Rock and Salma Hayek were truly understated, i'm not sure if it's because of the boistrous cast or the improv 'script'. Either way, the fiance and I truly enjoyed Grownups and will definately recommend it."

"Load of CRAP!"

"Grown ups was basically a bunch of comedic actors making fun of each other and dealing with family problems for an hours and a half. I don't understand how all these talented comedians could make such a terrible movie. This is one of the movies where every funny part in the movie is put into the trailer, thereby spoiling all the jokes because those were the only funny parts. I saw this movie at the drive in and I kept on looking over at the screen next to me, where Dinner for Schmucks was playing. The breast milk jokes were not funny, so why the hell were there 400 of them?! The best part in the whole movie, when Salma Hayek ran in slow motion. There was one good thing about this movie though, it was short. I recommend you avoid this movie at all costs. No matter what! 0.5"

"Classic"

"It was a classic Adam Sandler movie with the usually cast and crew, plus some big name actors. The comedy was good. It felt like it was a bunch of guys having fun and not forced."

"Disappointment"

"With all this "supposed" talent & experience on board, the movie was quite a disappointment. The idea was good, but they couldn't connect or pull it off. Why didn't these Hollywood stars say, "Hey, this isn't working"? My only conclusion is that their lives are so far off normal, they can't envision the good life."
