Synopsis: "Unhappy about spending the summer in a North Carolina beach town with the father (Greg Kinnear) who left her family years ago, rebellious teenager Ronnie Miller (Miley Cyrus) is pleasantly surprised when she bonds with her dad over their shared love of music. Meanwhile, Ronnie falls for a local volleyball star (Liam Hemsworth) determined to get into an Ivy League college. Kelly Preston co-stars in this drama based on a Nicholas Sparks novel." "A wannabe weepy!""It’s pretty watchable although Cyrus, sadly, just isn't convincing enough. If you’re a fan, you’ll love her in her first grown-up, serious role. But if you think she’s intensely annoying, stay way. Teens will luv it!" by angel on Sat May 8th, 2010 1 Comments | Reply | Report"Wonderful Movie""Nicholas Sparks - AMAZING. I went to see this movie last night with my best friend. In my life I have only cried in 1 movie ever, which happened to be...THE NOTEBOOK...another amazing movie. This movie made me cry so many times but in a good way. Every once in awhile you just need a real good cry...this movie was perfect for that. Miley Cyrus out did herself in this role. I never knew she could be so versitile, she really has left that teenybopper stage and entered into a young adulthood. So nice see the great chemistry between Miley and Liam. Miley Cyrus is a true person full of all talent, signing, acting, instrumental. It was completley amazing to see her transformation. I love her and Liam working together and hope to see them in another romantic movie again." by joh83079 on Fri Apr 23rd, 2010 0 Comments | Reply | Report"Another Nicholas Sparks' film...uh oh""Whenever you watch a Nicholas Sparks' film you know it's going to follow a strict formula. "The Last Song" is no different. It's overloaded with forced dramatic moments and lots of cheesy lines and "romance". The plot is all over the place, throwing in plot twists that go absolutely nowhere and add nothing to the bigger story. Miley Cyrus should be commended for trying to make the step up to big screen drama. Sadly, she has a long way to go. Her performance is wooden and almost robotic at times. She spends much of the time sulking and moping and her lines are delivered with the same plain, straightforward delivery that you find in her Hannah Montana show. All of that said, there is still a little charm to be found in the film and occasionally Cyrus does show a sweetness that the film needed more of. But she is just not yet up to a big dramatic role. It doesn't help her to be burdened with a heavy, overstuffed script and mediocre direction. Not as bad as it could have been. But it's not what I would call a "good" movie either." by keith7198 on Sun Apr 11th, 2010 0 Comments | Reply | Report"SO SAD!""OMG THIS WAS SUCH A SAD MOVIE ME MY MOM AND MY COUSIN WHO NEVER CRIES, WENT TO THE MOVIE THEATER AND SAW IT AND IT WAS SOOOOOOOOOOOO SAD.IT WAS SUCH A SURPRISE WHEN HER DEAD DIED! Myley Cyrus is a fantastic actress! I hated how her dad died in the end, but I loved how she started playing the piano again! AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME MOVIE!!!!!!" by xoxobellaxoxo on Sat Apr 3rd, 2010 2 Comments | Reply | Report"My Father and I went to see this movie together""My 69 year old Father and I went to see this movie today. I have only seen my Father cry 4 times in my life. Today made #5, and it was hard to tell because I cried right along side of him. Life is so short. You have to treasure each moment. This movie is probably the best movie I have ever seen. I was not expecting the ending to end the way it did. I am still shaken by the outstanding performances of Miley Cyrus and Greg Kinnear. How they were able to make this movie without ending in a heap of tears on the floor speaks volumes to the tremendous talent that was displayed in this film. Not a single person in the theater got up until after the credits had stopped and we all ended up in the restrooms crying. I can say there was not a dry eye in the place. Thank you for making this movie. It made me love my Dad even more, and I will treasure each moment. I would also like to say that Mr. and Mrs. Cyrus raised a fantastic daughter. Bobby Coleman was awesome. And Mr. Kinnear, you handled your role with such love and devotion. Your role was outstanding." by patisunderpaid on Fri Apr 2nd, 2010 0 Comments | Reply | Report |
