"The movie “Tron: Legacy”, was directed by Joseph Kosinski and was released in theatres on December 17, 2010. “Tron; Legacy” is an action based science fiction genre and was shot in digital 3D. The movie’s main actors were Jeff Bridges as Clu and Kevin Flynn, Garrett Hedlund as Jeff Bridge’s son Sam and Olivia Wilde as Qourra. The movie was filmed in Vancouver British Columbia and many aspects of the city are captured in the film, such as Lions Gate Bridge. The movie’s plot is based on the previous movie Tron, which was released in 1982 and won an Oscar for Special Effects. The main plot deals with Kevin Flynn having disappeared before he was on the break of an epidemic discovery of transporting humans into the digital world or grid as he called it. Kevin Flynn was the CEO of ENCOM International which when he went missing left the company to his son Sam. When Kevin’s old college gets a page from Kevin’s old number, he has suspensions and indicates to Sam to go check out the scene. Once Sam checks out the scene he discovers an underground office where he gets transported into the world of Tron the video game. Here he has to play many games that threaten his life drastically but provide intriguing special effects and visual images. The computer images in the movie were so crisp that it provided a sense that we were in the future. In addition, all the clothes , vehicles and music was that of the futuristic age and that is why the genre is based on science fiction and action. The movie was also shot in a digital universe which created the sense of a perfect future which also falls in the line of science fiction movies. The plot then thickens when Sam finds his dad and helps him escape the world in which he is trapped in by Clu and save the real world by doing so. Clu has taken over the digital grid in which Kevin created and now held Kevin hostage. The acting was very well done by all the actors and really did provide a sense that we were among the digital grid and were playing the same games that they were. Daft Punk, very well-known house and techno DJs, created the entire soundtrack for the movie which was very futuristic and added drastically to scenery and events which unfolded throughout the movie. The movie was also a great predecessor of the first Tron movie which created an epidemic in special effects when it was first released. I really enjoyed the movie and I would recommend it to anyone I know. Watching it in 3D also created a greater creation of the digital world and kept me intrigued as the plot thickened."

"Every line that came out of anyone's mouth was some horrible movie cliche delivered in a way that was so overly dramatic you had to laugh and ask "Are they serious with this?" At the beginning it's overlook-able with the cool espionage scene, but once you actually enter the grid it's just too much to take. Good special effects, but besides that it's just one big ball of corny cliches. It's fun for laughs but i wouldn't suggest it if you're expecting a real action movie."

"I only have one complaint about the film, but I will get to that at the end. Lets first talk about the story. It was top notch excellent. All the unanswered questions from the first one were mostly answered in this film which gave the viewer a relaxed feeling and able to enjoy the film. The film was not boring. It has great action and the parts with no fighting had great dialog. Seeing the movie in 3D was interesting. In the real world, the film was shot in 2D and switches to 3D when you enter the grid. That was a clever way of doing it instead of filming the whole thing like that. The cast was great. I was unsure about Garrett Hedlund at first, but he really pulled it off. Bringing back two of the main characters from the first was an amazing win. This was Jeff Bridges and Bruce Boxleitner. But here is the problem. This film takes place now so Bridges and Boxleitner can play their parts as older people. But for flashbacks and for the programs TRON and CLUE. They had CG faces. Disney did the best job they could at making them look real and on some scenes it was hard to tell. But other scenes, especially the flashbacks, it looked really fake. But I will say the rest of the CG and the update Grid was simply breath taking. A couple side characters that were enjoyable were Olivia Wilde as Quorra and Michael Sheen as Zuse. Wilde was a gem in this film and really played her part well as the female sidekick and the so called "eye candy". Michael Sheen's character was so animated, he was a joy to watch and added a little comedy to the film. One more set of side characters were the DJs in the club played by Daft Punk; who wrote the score to this film. There music was perfect for it and seriously sent chills through your body at point. The story again was great and leaves a cliffhanger, but a good one. If you want to know the answer, you have to play the video games released on PS3, Xbox 360 and the Nintendo DS if you want a little prequel. Anything to get people to spend money. This will be a great and memorable film."

"First let me make this point: This movies potential relies on the quality of the theaters sound system. So don't just see it anywhere, I'll explain why below.

I am a big fan of the original Tron. I saw it many times as a kid, basking in the glow of it's special effects. And Tron Legacy doesn't disappoint in that area. The lighting is great and really feels like it's the same place as the original movie even though the quality of the effects have greatly improved.

But graphics alone don't make a movie great. It also takes a great story. This movie is a loose continuation of the original about 15 - 20 years later. Sam Flynn is the rich spoiled brat with daddy issues because his father disappeared when he was a child. But Sam still has intentions of carrying out his dads great legacy. The movie really starts when Kevin's old business partner gets a page from the arcade where Kevin used to work. He then tells Sam that he should go just to check it out.

So far we have great visuals and a decent story. All great things for making a mediocre movie. But what I didn't expect, and what makes this movie great is the sound effects combined with the music of Daft Punk. The score of this movie is outstanding. It just fits with the movie perfectly. The sound effects don't overpower the movie, they are just unique enough to pop. But the music sets this movie apart. If I could score just the music I'd give it 5 stars. If you watch this movie in some small low budget theater you're missing out on the best part. Even if you have to see it on a smaller screen or not in 3d, at least see it someplace with great sound. Even better go see it in an IMAX theater. You wont be disappointed."
