"Best 9/11 film in years!"

"When i watched this movie at first it was slow but picked up and turned into a great 9/11 film. Tom hanks should have got more screen time but in the end i think it was enough to have the movie make sense. The little boy in this movie was great and as it was his first acting job in a big film the boy will get more jobs in the future. Sandra bullock as normal always acting brilliant and the relationship with the boy was exciting in a way which you never know what we happen next between them.

It was slow but then picked up more when the "renter" helps out the boy. It left me thinking about what was going to happen next and thinking about 9/11 and what it as done to people. Must see movie 5/5."

"not even a DVD movie"

"My husband and I went to see this movie last night and like the first comment said, I wanted to walk out half way through the movie. I loved the story line. Loved the imagination and creativity however, the spoiled brat attitude of the child ruined this movie. I would have been ok with it, if he had been like this AFTER his father passed however, he was a rude brat before it happened. I would not even recommend this movie to someone on DVD. I do wish that Sandra Bullock and Tom Hanks had more time in the movie but its sad to me that they took 2 amazing actors and gave them supporting rolls. The best parts of the film were the old guy "the renter". And well the end. lol Save your dime."

"Had hugely high hopes, completely let down"

"Hanks is in it so short you forget he's in it. Bullock, awesome as always, wish she had much more screen time. Kid is a good actor but the script bugged me most of the time. I blame the script not the kid. I wanted to walk out halfway though. I'm tired of kids in movies and TV being allowed (encouraged) to be disrespectful to adults as this kid was with John Goodman's character. I get that the kid is dealing with a major tragedy in his life, but before the tragedy he was like that. I get that he may or may not have had Aspergers, but I think the character would have touched my heart more and allowed me the good cry I was expecting had the story been a bit more realistic. I had to keep reminding myself this was in the 21st century because his clothes were that of a kid from the 50s. Just all around, the script didn't do this kid justice.

On a positive note, Sandra is aMAZing. The scene where she's on the phone with her husband is one of the highlights of the movie.

Save it for video."

"Very Thought Provoking!"

"They say 9/11 movies have not done well. Maybe people don't want to re-live the horror. However, while this revolves around that day, it has more to do with a small boy's adventures and with him coming to grips with his love of both his father and his mother.

A little slow in the beginning, the movie picks up a lot when "the renter" enters the film and just gets better and better. Fabulous acting and very enjoyable, it leaves you thinking a lot about how that day affected a lot of people."
