Synopsis: "This modern-day silent film artfully recounts the poignant end of the silent-movie era in the late 1920s. The story contrasts the declining fortunes of a silent-screen superstar with his lover's rise to popularity as a darling of the "talkies."" "silent plagerism!""My husband and I always love advant garde movies! We like to attend the limited viewing when they first come out always looking for arty and creative views of things. But watching The Artist actually made me angry! Angry that any critic would justify that money was spent even producing this film. Other than the fact that the sets realistically portrayed the 20's, this film didnthave a single original dialogue, action, or storyline! I knew every next movement, I knew the outcome of every scene before they happened because the film was a culimnation of many other films of the past! A combination of Singing in the Rain, and other older movies except it was silent. Not one single original action or word. Not a single emotion was incited in my except that I left the theatre angry that I was subjected to something so un original and the fact that people even invested in it to produce it makes me furious! What is wrong with the critics? They must be so desparate for an advantgarde film, that they dont have the guts to state that this file is pure plagarism! Truly, are you people kidding me? Stay away from this totally embarrassing film!" by ewdino on Thu Dec 29th, 2011 0 Comments | Reply | Report |
