"save your money"

"This isn't the worst movie I've ever seen, but it ranks up there. In addition to very little plot, the script writers know absolutely nothing about winter survival or wolf behavior. One completely implausible scene after another. Why a good actor like Liam Neeson agreed to do this stinker is beyond me."

"poor ending..."

"just saw this movie and was very dissapointed with the ending- just so you know, don't leave once the credits start- stay for the 8 min. then you'll see 2 seconds worth of an ending that is left to your imagination- this is what sucked about the movie- i would have expected that director and story writer to have both the alpha wolf and dominant male, liam, battle it out for a few minutes rather than end the film with a face-off. really decide if u want to waste your money up to that point."

"Watch it and you'll never come back"

"I'm struggling with this movie. I wanted to like it, I really do, but there were so many reasons not to. I should begin with the good stuff though. Liam Neeson, like usual, is one bad ass human being. I can't think of a movie where he has failed to disappoint. It seems like he is one of the few actors in Hollywood that actually cares about acting and cares about his fans. But my love for Liam Neeson can only go so far in a movie like 'The Grey'. There were some scenes where I was gripping my seat and wanted more, but my wish never came true. The wolves were impeccable, though. You might feel a connection with the overall meaning of the film, but it simply was not enough. The movie was way too long. Two hours was definitely unnecessary for a film like this one. I was sitting in my seat wondering when it was going to be over and then when it ended, I was still upset. There were little stories within the bigger picture, but once the movie ended, you realized it was just filler and the writers couldn't think of anything else. The audio was really annoying. Yes, we get it. Just because they are walking through a blizzard, doesn't mean you can crank the wind sound. Oh and when you transition between loud noises to silence, it's best to actually transition and not cut.

You can't go wrong with Liam Neeson, but when it comes to 'The Grey', you might have to pass. There was very little entertainment value and the gripping of my seat never lasted long. Let the wolves drag you when the DVD gets released."

"Great film except for?"

"If you love nature films, you'll definately want to see this one.. The acting was superb and loved the story plot of how plane crash survivors struggle to survive in natures pitfalls, however, the wolves characters depicted a good portion of the films integrity and there there were a few plots that werent so pratical ..The first is how many passengers survived that 400mph crash; thats beyond me, and the computer graphics distuingused the wolves to have a personality of there own.

Maybe if they took away the graphic scenes and hired trainees that train wolves, it would of added a more subtle feel. Ok maybe you can argue that you would not have all that violence with real wolves ,but story plots as opposed to violence goes a long away.

This film reminds me of movie "the edge" with alec baldwin and anthony hopkins. Great nature film , however in that film, a real bear is used too stalk the plane crash survivors, no graphics. Although i enjoyed the edge better, this film was entertaining.

Overall, it was a great film and would recommended."
