The setting is Detroit in 1995. The city is divided by 8 Mile, a road that splits the town in half along racial lines. A young white rapper, Jimmy "B-Rabbit" Smith Jr summons strength within himself to cross over these arbitrary boundaries to fulfill his dream of success in hip hop. Bear in mind-- this is a 13 year old's point of view... If I were a parent I'd never let my 13 year old watch this movie. The F Bomb is dropped like every other line, there are three sex scences, Eminems a$$, and it's just not the sort of thing you want to influence your kid. I loved the movie, mainly because I love Eminem. This movie is so screwed up and emotional it's beatiful. It's kind of depressing until the rap battles. Then you can't help but love it. Oh, and if you watch it, adults, don't watch with the kids, kids, don't watch with the parentals. The second sex scene. It's kind of graphic. I mean he's thrusting they're panting and such and there's no music... Just awkward. Over all I loved this movie.
