Alex Cross (2012)
After Washington DC detective Alex Cross is told that a family member has been murdered, he vows to track down the killer. He soon discovers that she was not his first victim and that things are not what they seem.
I heard great things about this movie. Wow were they wrong! Tyler Perry shouldn't be an actor. He tends to smile at times when he shouldn't making him look like an amateur with no talent. He does not play a believable whatever he plays. He should stay behind the camera because his acting is sub-par! Tyler Perry seems to always feel that the world has to revolve around him. He always has to be the center of attention. I hated all the Madea's. They aren't funny at all and this movie wasn't suspenseful like they said it was. I would skip this one unless you want to see Tyler Perry's bad acting and a movie that isn't worth watching. The ending was unrealistic too with further bad acting by Perry! If you do decide to watch make sure to watch it online for free because there are a lot better movies that you could watch with the $1 from RedBox! 4.5/10
I am a huge Tyler Fan, I grew up with him. I think many people see Tyler as a new person to the entertainment world, but I as a 22 year old have been knowing about him since 7th grade. I was watching his plays when a small select mainly African-American, Christian, audience followed him for a some years before his first film.
I was wondering if his Madea stereotype or drama role background, would make this action movie a bore or weird to view. However, I support Tyler and it seemed to be interesting. I actually found it to be EXCELLENT. I think the story plot was great, consistent, with action, and not overdone.
I think many action films lately are all the same and overdue it or under-due it a bit. But, this was a great film, there was some good acting and Tyler did well for his first action film. I really enjoyed this film and recommend it, there is a bit of drama, action, and suspense.
I do not think this film will bore you, I am excited to see Tyler step into other roles and genres now...he has mastered comedy and drama and now onto the action genre!
(By the way, the entire cast did great)
