A coming-of-age story about a teenage girl in 1960s suburban London, and how her life changes with the arrival of a playboy nearly twice her age.

A girl that yearns to get more out of life gets that opportunity by meeting a man that gives and shows her everything that she has ever wanted to see and more.
I don't want to spoil this movie for anyone, but it is really great, I must admit. You go on this wild ride with her, and indulge in the love and emotions that the school girl falls into. I highly recommend this movie! It was truly magnificent.
A brilliant, smart, and touching drama. Carey Mulligan's performance is near perfection and while Sandra Bullock was good in "The Blind Side", Mulligan should have ran away with the Best Actress Oscar. Alfred Molina gives one of his best performances as her stubborn but loving father.
The early 1960's Europe is beautifully brought to life in the film and is truly immersive. The screenplay wonderfully relays the story of a 16 year old girl who learns the realities of life the hard way.
This is an amazing film that deserves to be counted as one of 2009's very best.
