Buried (2010)
Paul Conroy is not ready to die. But when he wakes up 6 feet underground with no idea of who put him there or why, life for the truck driver and family man instantly becomes a hellish struggle for survival. Buried with only a cell phone and a lighter, his contact with the outside world and ability to piece together clues that could help him discover his location are maddeningly limited. Poor reception, a rapidly draining battery, and a dwindling oxygen supply become his worst enemies in a tightly confined race against time- fighting panic, despair and delirium, Paul has only 90 minutes to be rescued before his worst nightmare comes true.
At the start of this movie I found it very difficult to maintain my focus as it was just a guy in a box in a dim light banging about.
Think the reason I didn't enjoy this movie was because I didn't really get to know the character that well before he got locked up in the box, so I was emotionally detached from the character and therefore found the movie a little boring.
Ending wasn't great either.
All this stupid movie was about was some dumbass stuck in a fricking box for all of the fricking movie. It was a total waste of 2 hours. Now I can't take that time back because of this stupid fricking movie!!!!
This movie is an edge of your seat thriller that makes you punch the air with rage at the ending (in a good way)
I loved this movie at parts and hated it at others
Some parts that i love were you think he is dead and then he comes back
But other parts you just think REALLY come on that doesn't happen.
but the Acting is great and it is definitely worth watching in the cinema
first off... ur seriously gonna watch this guy stuck in a box for 2 whole hours!!! nobody else is really involved in da damn movie!! ....and the ending sucked!!!!! its one of those movies dat will leave u like ..dat shouldnt have been da ending..or at least it coulda been better!! .. but its my opinion.........it had a lil bit of humor dats all i can say........i realli wished i read da reviews before watching......good luck watching!!
Great performance by Ryan.. i think if Ryan not the leading man of this movie, maybe this movie could become a very boring movie... the storyline could be better if they want to make a little more explanation ( i mean with the visual flashback) of why the man can be trapped inside the coffin.. not just by the way he explains (only by talking with no visual flashback..) well not bad for the low-budget movie...
This movie totally sucked. Who wants to see a movie where a guy is totally trapped in a box for the entire movie. They could have shown what was happening on the outside with the guy that was trying to find him. Seriously this movie was terrible.
Terrible movie! You spend an hour and a half watching a guy in a box and your only hope through the entire thing is that he at least sees daylight at the end only to discover he freakin dies anyway! What was the point of this film?? They wasted their money on starring Ryan Reynolds in such a low budget film. Hate I spent a WHOLE DOLLAR on this movie!

Nope, it ain't gonna happen here. Don't be expecting flashbacks and dream sequences invading an intricate storyline with complex twists and turns. The 90 minute runtime never for a moment strays away from its confiscated setting. That's right, an hour and a half watching pretty boy Ryan Reynolds trapped in a box. Patience will be required.
Claustrophobes, this is most likely your worst nightmare. Heck, it's be tough on anyone--precious little air, hardly any light, a cellphone with the battery draining...I'm guessing he probably crapped his pants too. Oh, dirt is seeping in the coffin as well, so homeboy is getting smothered and covered like my Waffle House hashbrowns. Plus there might be a few surprises and unexpected dangers that are soon revealed.
One thing is for certain--Reynolds can act. No more is he relegated exclusively to the smart-aleck, penis & fart joke roles. A remarkable performance. He plays a civilian truck driver in Iraq that wakes up buried alive. Sheesh! That's worse than gaining consciousness next to a dead hooker. Fortunately he has a cell phone, and he frantically calls different numbers for help.
Buried is shot in real time and has some subtle but provocative points. Director Rodrigo Cortes even expertly mixes in some sly dark comedy. It all amounts to a slow-paced, tension-filled drama that is quite a revealing character study. It definitely won't appeal to the masses, but it's an excellent change of pace so rarely attempted in cinema.
If you a spare hour and a half to waste and £6 to spare, by all means go watch this man pant in a box...but its the worst film EVER made by a long shot...ive never spent as much time looking at a blank screen wishing to kill a film would end...only regret i have is that he didnt slice his neck earlier on in the film so it woulda been over quicker!!!
