Eden Lake (2008)
Eden Lake is a relentlessly tense and immaculately paced horror-thriller about modern youth gone wild. When a young couple goes to a remote wooded lake for a romantic getaway, their quiet weekend is shattered by an aggressive group of local kids. Rowdiness quickly turns to rage as the teens terrorize the couple in unimaginable ways, and a weekend outing becomes a bloody battle for survival.
I really hope today's kids do not end up like this...
This is the story of a couple(Jenny and Steven) in England who decide to go on a romantic weekend getaway at this remote lake where they believe that they will be all alone....right. At first the ideal trip for the couple seems to be going fine, but then a group of dangerous looking teenagers strolls in and plunks down near them by the lake. Right away these kids start making a ruckus with their loud techno like music and even their angry mutt who comes over a couple times and barks in the couple's faces. Finally Steven goes over and tries to talk to the kids to turn down their music and respect people around them, but the kids are unruly Steven just walks away as the kids mock and make fun of him. Steven and Jenny sleep in their tent by the lake overnight and in the morning they leave to go into town, when they backup their jeep they run over a bottle(that the kids were drinking)and blow a tire. Steven is furious and when he see's these kids on the street he tries to catch them unsuccessfully . After the couple returns to their tent and goes out for a swim, they return to discover that the kids have stolen their car, cell phones and wallets. Steven and Jenny start walking though the woods and finally find the kids and Steven confronts them and in the ensuing melee between Steven and the kids, the angry mutt from before jumps in and gets stabbed and dies......bad move Steven. Now the kids go ape sheeott and want to kill Steven and Jenny....really kill them.
I wrote a ton it seems and i could right more but i do not want to spoil it for you because this is definitely worth seeing some time.
I gave Eden Lake 4 outta 5 stars because it is very gory(which is great) and very suspenseful. Good flick.
