"Frida" chronicles the life Frida Kahlo shared unflinchingly and openly with Diego Rivera, as the young couple took the art world by storm. From her complex and enduring relationship with her mentor and husband to her illicit and controversial affair with Leon Trotsky, to her provocative and romantic entanglements with women, Frida Kahlo lived a bold and uncompromising life as a political, artistic, and sexual revolutionary
I thought this bio-pic did a great job at depicting the life of Frida Kahlo. Shows how her life although filled with immense pain and suffering both physically and mentally she was an extremely strong, vibrant and talented women. Her perseverance and passion to exist in life and art was evident and unstoppable. Her free spirit and passion of love was heartwarming and the way that love came full circle at the end during her last few years was also heartwarming. I also like the way the Taymor mixed Frida's art and turned it into animated cartoon like depiction of certain situations in her life throughout the movie, most dramatic was her bed in the end. Overall I really enjoyed sharing in the life of Frida.
