As far as action flicks go, this one is much better than the last. But there are some confusing and distracting elements in the plot that detracts from the overall movie. Another thing I expected was a bit more humor. Compared to the last movie Retaliation was all business.
For the action scenes alone I would have given this movie 4 stars, almost 5. But the side plots interrupted the flow of the movie without contributing in a meaningful way.
This movie is about what you could expect from an action film. Bad guys take out the good guys, only a few are left, and than the good guys have to over take the bad guys (which,of course, happens). The action in this film is entertaining (I saw it in 3D), but it wasn't anything we haven't seen before. Bruce Willis was competent, Dwayne Johnson was about the same as every movie we've seen him in, and Adrianne Paliniki was better in Red Dawn. The shooting style was fine in 3D, but once again, there is nothing different in this movie.Fine for a popcorn flick, but I am sure there are better films to spend your money on.
