this film sucked... lots of action, yeah alright well a fail attempt to make an army war film which ends up being a poor superhero film. flash back after flash back after flash back. they near enough have flash backs for every character. YOU DONT NEED A FLASH BACK FOR EVERY CHARACTER IN A FILM!!!. i got pissed off after the 10th flash back i had a feeling that the film got the audience going backwards instead of forwards. this film maybe alright for little kids but im sure even they will get bored after the first time they've watched it. oh and the special effects and acting wasnt very good.

G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra

Earlier this year, "Transformers 2" was released and I thought it was a great example of what the majority of America truly wants these days. It overflowed with ridiculous action scenes but had a few fine looking females and some great humor to support it. "G.I. Joe" is like that minus the funny script and nice babes

The movie focuses on an elite military unit made of special operatives known as G.I. Joe. The unit, operating secretly, takes on an evil organization led by a notorious arms dealer.

The plot sounds simple, right? But the film tries to make itself too smart for its own good. I had no idea what was going on the entire two hours i sat in the theater. Sure, the special-effects are good (especially during an action scene that takes place in Paris) but they were definitely the only things that were intriguing to me.

The film is convoluted from start to finish. The script tries to add humor but it just falls flat and ends up making the film more dumb. There are so many lines that made me want to walk out like "Try this on for a size boys" and "Get out! Get out!...Nice shoes." The movie doesn't know if it's trying to be funny or serious and ended up being a complete waste of my time.

The acting was another reason i was miserable while watching this. It's a complete joke the way the cast reads their lines. They over-act and make "G.I. Joe" seem like a Chinese martial-arts film instead of an American action-adventure movie. I would've easily walked out of the movie 20 minutes into it if it weren't for the good special effects. This piece of junk wins the award for the worst movie of 2009 so far.

G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra

Going into the cinema I thought the movie wasgoing to be ok but it sucked. Most of the movie was computerized when they easily could have done it normaly. If you ask me they did way to much fight scenes and not a lot of just calm scenes to tell the story. I don't mind fight scenes actually I love them but the over did it and all of the fight scenes were un realilistic and just plain out stupid. And there was way to many un neccisary explosions and almost all the guns shot rockets instead of bullets. On top of all that the acting was horrible even Dennis Quade's lines sounded cheesey. Plus the plot seemed pretty stupid. And every time a car or something would crash there would be an explosion. I gave this movie a chance but about ten minutes into the movie I knew I was going to hate the movie. There's not much to besides it really sucked. So in conclusion Movie Mike gives G.I Joe
1 1/2 stars.

G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra

G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra is obviously a lot different than the classic cartoon G.I. Joe. This corny action flick was pretty simply put and horribly acted out. The suspense was somewhat intense but this film had its moments.

Lot's of good CGI was included in the film (obviously). However, if there's definately one thing about this film that's HIGHLY noticable, it's changed A LOT from the kid cartoon series and action figures. I remember watching little kids being scooted out by their parents during the film.

I accepted the changes the film had made as it took a darker side to the story, however, the corny film was somewhat enjoyable. If there's one tip for parents, don't bring kids under the age of about 8.

Overall the film earns a 3/5.

Knowing is half the battle!

yeah they said that in the movie, and i laughed.

This movie keeps your attention and has a ton of action....but i felt similar to when i left Transformers 2, like my brain had been shut off during the duration of the film. not a good sign.

Though you should check your brain at the door and just get that popcorn ready, this movie is much better than Transformers 2 in my opinion. The story is easy to follow and just more fun in general.

The movie starts with Duke(Tatum) and Ripcord(waynes) having to transport this case of nanonite warheads to this buyer or whatever. Then what do you think happens? Yep, they get ambushed by the bad guys and the G.I.Joes come and save the day. After that Duke and Ripcord join the Joe's and go on a mission to find out who was behind the attack and what their plans for the warheads is.

I don't want to give much more away because this movie is worth going to see on the big screen just because of the amount of action it brings. Only for that reason I think, otherwise i'd say you could wait to rent this one. Not to mention that this movie is longer than it needs to be. ish.

I gave it 3 outta 5 stars just because of the action which was decent. Without that i'd say skip it.

WAIT TO RENT THIS MOVIE, UNLESS YOU WANT TO SEE IT ON THE BIG SCREEN.

The best things about this movie is that everyone at least tries hard and the movie is some fun. While the script is decent and tries as much as possible to explain why this person or that person are holding a grudge with each other through many flashbacks. The movie is better than you'd expect and it at least is less disappointing than some of the other movies to be released this summer. It delivers more than the summer movies that I expected to be a lot better than they were.

It has a very big cast and Stephen Sommers (The Mummy, Van Helsing) does a fine job giving everyone a good amount of screen time. He gets trash talked about him, but he's honestly better than Michael Bay and McG are at least. One problem I had was Joseph Gordon Levitt (Brick,The Lookout) being cast against type as Cobra Commander. He's a very talented actor and tries hard to be sinister and it does almost work but I also had a hard time trying not to laugh.

But the best casting was of Ray Park (X-Men, Sleepy Hollow) as Snake Eyes. He was perfectly cast in the role and the movie is it's most fun when he's on screen. The movie could have been a lot worse, someone only yelled "Yo Joe!" once and none of the bad guys ever yelled "COBRA!!!". Still, it would have been better if Marlon Wayans took a vow of silence like Snake Eyes.
