A double-bill of thrillers. "Grindhouse" is presented as one full-length feature comprised of two individual films helmed separately by each director. "Death Proof," is a rip-roaring slasher flick where the killer pursues his victims with a car rather than a knife, while "Planet Terror" shows us a view of the world in the midst of a zombie outbreak.

Death Proof

Death Proof is definetely a Tarantino movie that depending upon your taste you will either love it or hate it. I am one of the people that enjoyed this movie and thought it was one of Tarantino's better movies.

Even though this movie had a couple of decent action scenes this was far from wall to wall action laced with violent gory scenes like people would expect from Tarantino. This movie is a slow paced film focused on the dialogue which is one of the reasons that I love his movies. The dialogue seems so natural and un forced its as if the actors/actresses are just casually talking like they do off screen, its as if they really understand their characters. I think that sets the story up great as they are not expecting that Stuntman Mike is a sociopathic stuntman looking to kill them and ruin their night out.

I was also a fan of the music and the settings that were displayed I thought they went so well with the theme of the story. I thought Kurt Russel played the role of the stuntman very well and really made the character creepy but charming at the same time.

I would recommend watching this film just to see if this is a style of movie you like, its like I said everyone's opinion of this movie will probably be different.

Grindhouse: Death Proof

I have been a huge fan of Tarantino from the beginning... but one of my new favorite movies of all time is Death Proof. The major selling point to me was the soundtrack. I think all of the music choices were PERFECT for this movie. I especially loved the Coaster's song "Down in Mexico" for the lap dance. It may be just because of my age, but I had never heard this song before. Second... Kurt Russell did an amazing job as Stuntman Mike. He truly creeped me out in the beginning of the movie. Third... the cars. Who could hate a movie that had such amazing cars in it! That was the major selling point for my husband. Fourth... the fact that the girls in the end show Stuntman Mike what's up. Fifth... Zoe. She did such an amazing job for not even being an actress. I didn't realize it during the movie until I watched the special features. Rosario Dawson (whom I LOVE) did a great job. I think the plot line was incredible, as well as the cinematography. Quentin Tarantino is truly one of the best movie makers of our time.

With all that being said... I will have to point out I did not like how the movie ended. I wish there was a little more to it. It didn't feel over when the credits started rolling.

All in all I LOVED this movie, however it is a bit gory and shouldn't be seen by children (pretty much anyone under 17).
