When I walked into the theater to see this movie I was dreading it but I went because my godparents wanted to see it. Then once the movie started I was intrigued by how well it was being done. It was fun. This film was just plain fun, and it seems that all the actors & actresses had fun being in the movie. Originally I wasn't too happy that John Travolta was playing a women because of all his other roles carried so much masculinity in it. He did really well and kept the movie going strong. I enjoyed every song and enjoyed watching the cast just have so much fun. Everything in this movie was great and it never slowed down. This is the third time that it was remade but it seems to have been done just as well if not better than the others. The first time that Hairspray was heard of was in broadway then it was made into a movie, and then another movie. I was especially surprised by how the main character who stole every scene she was in even though it was her first move. The movie was excellent and I recommend every one watch it.

This movie was very 1960's and the music and dancing was greeat but it could of been s lot funnier. John Travolta being a girl was kinda lol, but there were many better people for the job. And some of it was not funny to us, but funny to others. This movie is not a PG movie. It should be rated PG-12. For swearing, french kissing, butt touching, etc. But over all, this movie was something I would see again.
