Scary and a good sequel!

This was a good horror movie. The only bad thing about was the ending (which I will not spoil) but it left you hanging thinking they might make a third one and that wouldn't be good because we all know how that will go when talking about horror movies. THEY WON'T STOP MAKING THEM. Ex: Paranormal Activity

Intelligent, compelling and frightening.

Whilst the first film to this franchise 'Insidious' is teeming with over-the-top 70's thriller sound effects and spirits resembling a star wars character, it's fair to say that Insidious: Chapter 2 has definitely upped it's game.

Sticking to it's 'astro-projection' ghostly theme, Insidious: Chapter 2 reveals a much more intense, carefully thought about plot which is definitely thrilling and above all, clever. It's fair to say that this film is one of the most scary, 'jumpy' films i've ever seen (whether or not that had to do with anything of being front row at the cinema, i'll let you be the judge of that).

This movie tells the second part to Insidious and also uses footage from the first film and ties various knots with unexplained events which seemed to leave viewers confused and only a little scared with the first one. It's rare you come across a modern horror film that is scary yet logical. Different 'planes' of time and past/present/future are key motifs in this film and enforces a sense of secrecy and exclusiveness on the reader, asking why did we not already know about links between time and spirits? Extremely graphic, sudden outbursts of terror and chill capture the viewer ever leaving you utterly scared or just dumbfounded. Whilst some bits of this film are a little predictable and cheesy, it definitely does all a good horror film should do and more. Watch this film if you ever want to be scared, want a decent film to enrapture a perception on and definitely challenge your understanding.

Note: you definitely have to watch the first one before you watch the second!

I'll leave you to be the judge.
