G.G. Sparrow faces off with her choir's newly appointed director, Vi Rose Hill, over the group's direction as they head into a national competition.
What an uplifting movie! Music is awesome, young actors are good, Queen Latifah and Dolly are so lovable and a great matchup. I can't remember the last time people actually applauded DURING a movie! But it happened several times during Joyful Noise.
After seeing 3 different movies this week where kids are disrespectful - and for no real reason except the script writer must enjoy disrespectful kids, it was very refreshing to see QL handle her daughter the way parenting should be done. This is a must see. It would have gotten 5 stars, but there a a couple of corny spots, but it was really a great couple of hours.
Sorry but I just have to respond to Nanette's comment about "not Christian". OMG!!! Wake up woman! Yeah, I thought that was one of the unnecessary parts of the film, but are we really supposed to believe Christians don't do that stuff?
Overall, I would encourage anyone to see this film. It is upbeat and makes you want to dance!
