Danny Ocean's team of criminals are back and are composing a plan more personal than ever. When ruthless casino owner Willy Bank double-crosses Reuben Tishkoff, causing a heart attack, Danny Ocean vows that him and his team will do anything to bring Willy Bank and everything he's got down. Even if it includes hiring help from one of their own enemies, Terry Benedict.
What a wonderful example of the powerful effect a great ensemble cast can have on a film. Who needs a good story when you got all these great actors? It helps a lot that they all have very wonderful characters to perform, and what a great thing that we all, as an audience, got to meet them in such a great film, Ocean's Eleven.
Because, Ocean's Eleven had the superb cast, great writing, AND a wonderful story. It was fast- paced and witty, sweeping us along the roller-coaster plot line full of twists, turns, bangs... and jokes, GREAT laugh out loud moments from all the characters. So by the time we reach this film, with a ho-hum revenge plot and less witty dialogue, we can at least enjoy another adventure of our favorite crew of super criminals.
The revenge plot may not bowl you over, but it does entertain, especially since Danny Ocean and his gang are out to s c r e w over the one and only Al Paccino, whose addition as the villain could only up the ante of this already phenomenal cast.
So, the plot is there, the cast is remarkable, the writing is good... it just doesn't have the wit and amazing charm of the first film. And don't even talk about the second film, it is dead to me...
If you like the first film, you will enjoy the third, just don't expect it to blow you away. But, if you for some reason liked the second film, you're gonna love Ocean's Thirteen...
