this movie was a really good movie its sad that some of you think this movie sucks.I dont care whate you people outtherethink unless its a good comment this movie.i gave this movie a five star rating because they hade to change things and take some stuff out because then it would be like a 5 hour movie if they didnt change anything or take anything out.
This was a good movie but if you have read the book you will notice there are a variety of things that were changed and left out of the movie... Although it was Luke who stole the Lighting Bolt from Zeus, it was Kronos (the Titan God and father of Zeus, Poseiden, and Hades) he was serving, not Hades. Ares also played a role in it too. When Ares captured Luke for stealing not only the bolt but Hades helm, he started having dreams of Kronos and released Luke and kept the items until Percy came along and placed them in his possession by the means of a backpack, not a shield. The flying shoes were cursed and were supposed to lead Percy to Tartarus to give the items to Kronos to start a war between the gods and return him to power. It was Percy's mother who was left behind in the Underworld, not Grover, and Hades returned her once he received his helm back. Percy fought Ares before returning the lightening bolt to Zeus, not Luke, and afterwards he gave the helm the Mrs. Dodds (one of the Furies) to return to Hades. Percy didn't find out who his father was until after he reached the summer camp at Half-Blood Hill during Capture the Flag when he fought Clarisse. Also, Percy received the pearls from a sea spirit in the book.
well.. this was crap.
the film had good special effects and honestly that was the only thing going for it. the film had bad acting, crap story, bad script, bad everything else.
it was dead boring, i was bored after the frist 40 minutes, the same thing pretty much happened we gotta find 3 balls.
and 3 balls later pffft i thought i was watching the same thing go on for 3 hours i dont know who decided to make this shit.
dont watch it, if you do your baby will slap you
This was an extremely good movie. I have read all of the books, and at first was frustrated since it hardly matched the books at all, but soon realized that since they obviously wouldn't be making any other movies in the series, they needed to take things out, change things, replace things, and much more, so they wouldnt run into unanswerable questions.
For example: Medusa, old ladies knitting socks, luke, ares, annabeth's hair, grover, percy's age etc. :D
Otherwise, they picked wonderful actors and I LOVED the movie!
(Annabeth's eyes were GORGEOUS---anyone agree?)
Well, it would have been OK, IF it matched the book even a little. Sence I read the book before I watched the movie, I thought the movie was HORRIBLE!
I would have liked it a lot better if they made a few changes. Ok, not a few..... A LOT! Some simple things I'll list here! First off, Percy and Anabeth in the book were about 12 - 14. In the movie they looked like 16-18 year olds! Another thing: In the movie LUKE faught Percy for the lightning bolt. Where did that come from? NOT the book, thats for sure.
There were also lots of cusswords that weren't in the book, as well as "love scenes" that were not in the book. And much of my favorite scenes fron the book were not in it, such as the time Percy jumped into the river off of the arch! And the little girl who saw him getting out of the river dry. Also the part about the credit cards they got in the hotel. The one they gave to the taxy driver.....
Over all, this movie was one I DO NOT recomend!
I think that this movie was great. Although i do wish that the movie staid more true to the book, the movie was still good with it's own twist. I think that this movie is great for kids and was properatly rated. This movie is great for all, young and old. And if you are reading this review and havn't seen the movie, go buy it and watch it right away!
OK this was an awesome series i loved it one of my favorites but when i saw the movie i left dumbfounded. i persionaly liked the movie it was funny but i could not believe that they had actually gotten that from the lightning thieft book. and i dont know what everybodys talkin about not good for children under 12 or ten or watever. i mean like 8 would be a good age. i mean they only cuss like twice and its not even tht bad and the only "scary scene" would be the hades but thats not even that bad. but i do agree with the fact the person who played percy looked more like what percy should look like in the last book not the first bc by the time they get to the last movie there gonna need a new percy. sadly its and 8/10
For anyone who has read the book they are probably saying "rubbish", and when I first heard about the difference between the movie and the book I was too, but although I wished they would have kept to the original parts of the book I thought it was good. Some of the changes I even liked!
I would not recommend this movie for anyone under 10 because of the use of bad language referring to the underworld,Hades' scary form, and battle scenes.Overall I give this movie a 9/10! :)
