As the city is locked down under quarantine, Alice joins a small band of elite soldiers, enlisted to rescue the missing daughter of the creator of the mutating T-virus. It's a heart-pounding race against time as the group faces off against hordes of blood- thirsty zombies, stealthy Lickers, mutant canines and the most sinister foe yet.
this film doesn't live up to its processor and its not as good as the third, i don't know what makes it less entertaining, possibley the story, and even though it has nemisis in it its still not as good, nemisis does kick ass and all that and so does alice even more so but i dont like valentine who is one of the characters from the games, she kind of puts me off the film.
As I mentioned in my review of the first Resident Evil movie, I'm not usually into zombies and sci-fi, but the RE movies are some kind of an exception for me.
If you ask me, RE: Apocalypse is better than the first one, because the plot goes deeper and there are more interesting characters.
I have to say though that Jill (Sienna Guillory) is, in this movie, exactly the kind of female bad-ass that I don't like much. Big guns, big boobs and lots of skin, and a bitchy attitude. And that's pretty much all. No, can't say I'm a fan of such characters.
Alice (Jovovich), on the other hand, is even better than in the first movie, I really love her character. I also really really liked Carlos (Oded Fehr) in this movie and especially the third RE. There is something about his character that makes him different from the usual action movie heroes, although I can't tell exactly what it is. I usually like a bit different kind of male characters, but there is something charming about Carlos.
LJ (Mike Epps) was funny, but really typical; you find characters like him in every other movie these days. I can't complain too much but LJ and Jill were just too typical for me to like them much.
Overall this movie is quite good, and I think even people who don't normally like sci-fi and zombies should try out the Resident Evil movies, they're quite entertaining.
