Sex drive was an alright movie all in all. I mean for movies there are always room for improvement in more cases than one. This movie had my friends and i laughing so hard we kept our parents up most of the night. And than crashed on our lawn set outside, but besides that point this movie was well worth the time.
This movie had to be one of the funniest ive seen in a while and i have got to tell you i really needed the laugh this movie gave me.
So if you want to laugh and you love juvenile comedy than go watch this movie.
A virgin teen goes on a road trip with his 2 friends to lose his virginity to a girl from the internet. One of his 2 friends along for the ride is a hot girl that secretly wants him. When the other is a fat kid with glasses who some how is a chick magnet.
Critics said it wanted to be Superbad and that the kids even dressed the way they did in Superbad. But they just dress the way any kid would and they sort of dress better than the kids in Superbad lol. If anything the movie more like a combination of Some Kind of Wonderful and American Pie.
James Marsden is entertaining as the virgin kids older brother but he acts a lot like Stiffler. All the mishaps with the step-mom is like something from American Pie as well. While the tomboy best-friend secretly wanting him is like Some Kind of Wonderful.
However, whether it's original or not it's entertaining and funny. Seth Green is very funny as a sarcastic Amish guy who claims he enjoys helping people but then hint that they could repay him with money or doing chores. James Marsden is at funnest whether his character is original or not. While the 3 leads have some charm as well.
At The Movies

Tough times call for tough measures. Take a step back from the economic doldrums we are all currently facing. What better way to leave the droll October blues behind and dreary fall weather than a riotous romp at the movies. Brace yourself for a heaping helping of unadulterated laughter with Sex Drive, a gross-out comedy from Seville and VKPR now drawing huge laughs at Tinseltown (on Pender, free parking), Empire Studio 12, Colossus and Famous Players Silver City cites around B.C.
No doubt Sex Drive looks headed to be the funniest sex comedy since American Pie. Fresh faces light up this hilarious farce that strives to answer that age old question: how to lose one’s virginity. Poster boy for the uninitiated is nerd boy Ian. Besides being the brunt of constant jokes from school chums Ian must also contend with his wild and crazy brother Rex who manages to make his little brother the constant butt of countless tacky jokes and put downs.
Hold on, it gets worse, far worse. Thanks to high tech Ian has become enamoured with computer hottie Ms. Tasty. So when he’s not toiling away at the donut shop he calls his second home Ian has made up his mind to lose his manhood to this comely babe. Unfortunately that girl is hundreds of miles away in a different state than Illinois. Have no fear, pride is here. Unable to content with not having sex Ian decides to make the journey to find love. Unfortunately for him and his two travel mates they encounter problems galore on route.
Going along for the ride is Lance, Ian’s crazy oversexed playboy buddy and pal Felicia. Among the funny moments in this gag-filled journey is a trip to Amish land where an almost unrecognizable Seth Green (Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery) almost steals the movie away.
Put simply, director Sean Anders (Surviving Christmas) has put together a first class cast and milks the story line to perfection. Cast as the boy who puts his reputation on the line to score is Josh Zuckerman in an inspiring, yes inspiring performance. Wholesome virtue comes courtesy of local Langley born actress Amanda Crew (She’s The Man) with Katrina Bowden full value as the sex babe to die for.
Real funny moments come through the uproarious work of James Marsden (27 Dresses) in an over the top performance as Ian’s out of control brother with Clark Duke equally hilarious as Lance, the smooth operator who also gets in way over his head with the ladies.
Crazy situations, insane sex gags guaranteed to make you chuckle and warm performances from a winning cast makes Sex Drive one of the funniest movies in years and a very good companion for those into the American Pie genre of films.
