As a teenager this movie brought a lot to me, it was sweet but in a melancholic way, and it hit hard on things like parent divorce, relationship problems in teenage years and the feeling of lonliness.
Having said that it probably sounds like some emo flick, but it isn't. I enjoyed it's truthfulness and it was refreshing to watch such a good movie!! not a crappy american $$$ flick!
Richard Ayoade (the director) made a good choice getting Alex Turner (from the Arctic Monkeys) to do the soundtrack because it's beautiful! I bought it off iTunes. :)
I highly recommend this movie, it's really something great.
