I just viewed "The Basement" and thought it was really, really great! I thought every section was powerful, and I especially liked how you toured the actual physical locations of your childhood and was moved by the scenes where you played the voices of your parents with still pictures of you and your family playing. I was really impressed by the students at the high school and how they got so much benefit from working with a professional artist, and I really loved one of the themes of the film that we all like to re-connect with the feeling of safety in our homes / hometowns that we experienced in our childhood in our own ways. I thought the 3 layers of remembering your child childhood, investigating the crime location, and the experience of putting on the play at the high school and re-connecting with home were woven so well. Great documentary!
