Bourne is brought out of hiding once again by reporter Simon Ross who is trying to unveil Operation Blackbriar, an upgrade to Project Treadstone, in a series of newspaper columns. Information from the reporter stirs a new set of memories, and Bourne must finally uncover his dark past while dodging The Company's best efforts to eradicate him.
This movie was great. From the very beginning to the finale it grabs you and never lets go. The story was greatly written and full of excellent performances. Matt Damon is able to pull off this movie better than I wanted to give him credit for before watching any of the Bourne movies but he does an excellent job. The movie takes you to some great locations and the director doesn't use computer graphics to create locations but actually films at the very location of each place. The action scenes in this movie were top notch and fast paced. I was into the movie with what was going on but when a chase scene begins in Morroco I was at the edge of my seat for every minute of it until it ended with a spectacular fight sequence. If You are looking for a spy thriller where the main character doesn't use all these gadgets out of every pocket or pens than this is the movie for you. He is kind of like the modern day Macguyver. I loved this movie and if you have or even haven't seen the other Bourne films you should definitely see this movie.
The Bourne Ultimatum proves one of the best summer blockbusters grossing well over 70 million the first weekend of whatever correct me if i`m wrong there but anyways i liked the first movie but never got to the second movie before i saw this.at first i thought it was juts going to be an average action movie but it turned out to be one of the best action spy movies i had ever seen displaying some great acting from Matt Damon and just endless action scenes that`ll have you glued to the screen.ok now i know this ousnds weird but my complaint was the camera during the actioon events it like made me dizzy from going all over the place but really it didn`t effect my rating on this.so anyways if you liked the previous bourne films you`ll love this movie best and if you didn`t like the previous movies than i bet you`ll like this too!!with the bourne ultimatum coming out it was just unexpected really and i thought nothing of another bourne film and really i never saw the first movie til i saw the trailer for the third one but let`s skip to me thoughts at the end of the movie.now it was pretty satisfying but at the same time it left you hanging.but it does leave you with the feel of another bourne film that could crash this wonderful series
Oh My God…does the camera man have Parkinson's disease or something? Seriously sometimes I felt like I was going to throw up because the camera was shaking so much. It was fine in the first too but overdone in some parts here. Anyways, despite my rant against the camera man, I really liked this movie. The Bourne series is up there with the Die Hard and Lethal Weapon series for me.
Matt Damon, Joan Allen, and Julia Stiles reprise their roles in this third film which has just as much action and fast paced syndrome as the first two in what I believe is the greatest movie of the trilogy. Paul Greengrass, the director, is a master at capturing the fight sequences and I truly think he's set the bar on which all future action movies should be judged on.
The story is excellent and riveting and you truly feel for Bourne this time around as he finally approaches the end of his journey to find out who he is. While on the topic I would like to add that Matt Damon does an exquisite job as Jason Bourne and it is probably one of his greatest performances. It's truly a shame that movies like these get bypassed during Oscar season because the acting could get Matt his nomination, as well as Greengrass for that matter.
Of course this movie does suffer from the same fault as the previous two which is what I call the Action Hero Syndrome. No matter what happens to this guy whether it be getting shot and falling fifty feet or driving off the side of a building, he just brushes himself off and keeps going. I do believe you have to suspend belief in these movies but it's at a reasonable level at least.
This movie has it all for me, the action, the story, the aesthetic value. It even has David Strathairn who brings a great talent to the role of Noah Vosen who is set out on the demise of Jason Bourne. Despite its few flaws this is a great movie and the best of this summer's "Threequels". Great direction, great acting, great movie; I give it a 4.5 out of 5 and it is an Astonishing Accomplishment for me.
