When 13 year old Maria Merryweather's father dies, leaving her orphaned and homeless, she is forced to leave her luxurious London life to go and live with Sir Benjamin, an eccentric uncle she didn't know she had, at the mysterious Moonacre Manor.
This movie is a lot like Narnia except for the fact that it's not as elaborate with creatures. It's a good story, a very good cast, and a very heartwarming story. The visuals are stunning. The actors are very much into their characters. This movie will make you laugh, smile, tear up, and even cheer. Doesn't hurt that there is eye candy for us ladies in the form of Ioan Gruffudd. Also for those of you who know him (you love him) there is the vastly talented and witty Tim Curry.
I recommend this movie for every child and those of us who still love fairy tales even though we are grown up. You are never too old to enjoy a good movie like this. It's a keeper.
