The Shawshank Redemption (1994)
Framed in the 1940s for the double murder of his wife and her lover, upstanding banker Andy Dufresne begins a new life at the Shawshank prison, where he puts his accounting skills to work for an amoral warden. During his long stretch in prison, Dufresne comes to be admired by the other inmates -- including an older prisoner named Red -- for his integrity and unquenchable sense of hope.
It's hard to really say anything negative about this movie. It has everything that you could want in a movie. The acting is great and the storyline keeps you intrigued. If you want to watch a very good movie then this is one to pick up. 8/10

A box office disaster upon it's release in 1994, The Shawshank Redemption is now widely regarded as one of the greatest films ever made.
The film captures the heart and the mind, as we cheer on the friendship of Red (Morgan Freeman) and Andy (Tim Robbins) during a 20 year prison term.
The movie is told through Red, as he uses his narration to make you feel as if your right there with the characters, inside their minds as they go through the laughs and hells of prison.
Right through the incredible ending, Andy's escape and Red's journey to Mexico, this story of friendship and hope lifts the spirit and the soul. Truly a remarkable movie that will forever be a staple in movie history.
If you look on any list of top films to watch, this one will be on there. In fact, if you look on any list of top 10 best films, this one will always be pretty close to number one, If not number one already. And there is a good reason for it.
This film is acted Brilliantly. You can easily have a connexion to each character, and right from the very beginning, you are drawn into this dramatic yet realistic film. Its the sort of film where you can feel like crying and smiling at the same time, and you leave feeling inspired and wanting to tell every person you can just how good it is, tell them that they should watch it too.
This film is one that anybody should watch just for the experience, and leaving knowing that this time you really have watched a good film - Yes, that's right, this is a clear definition of what a GOOD FILM is. -
