The fantasy adventure film "The Sorcerer´s Apprentice" is about the fight between the Morganians and the Merlinians. It runs for109 minutes and was releasedon the 16th July 2010.We give the movie the rating 2,5 from 5 points.
The sorcerer Balthazar Blake (Nicolas Cage) looks for a person who will imherit Merlin´s (James A. Stephens) power. This person is Dave Stutler (Jay Baruchel), a physical student. After finding him, Balthazargives him a crash-course in sorcery and magic to stop Maxim Horvarth (Alfred Molina) waking up Morgana le Fay (Alice Krige), the monarch of the Morganians, too raising the soul of evil death so that she can destroy the world.
There are wonderful animations and great actors. This would be a fantastic film if the story were not so predictable and boring. All time you wait for that great fight at the end, for which Dave trained soo much.
but the fight against Morgana was so boring and so short. We were very disappointed.
It seems like the most of the movie was only needless stuff, and most aspects of the plot you can only realize at the beginning and the ending.
The movie might be good for kids, but not for people who want too see a film with a good story.
Well, where do you start with this movie? The bad casting? Nicholas Cage actually does a decent job, but he is the only one who does. The Kid is just awful and makes you want to puke from his over acting. The story line never really developes, ever. Also things will irratate you, like the fact that people are just accepting the fact that a big metal bird is flying over head without blinking an eye. When the movie opens you almost think you are going to see a cool movie. Three minutes in, its all over, just another stupid we gotta save the world from evil before were doomed, movie. I really cant see this even entertaining a young child because everything is thrown at you with no explanation whatsoever? The effects are weak and simple and the whole movie feels rushed and did I say the Kid who plays the main part is horrible yet? You begin rooting for the bad buys becuse he is so bad. Nicholas Cage must have just said hey, I owe 40 million to the IRS, I'll just take any old crappy script that coems my way. Not an instant classic by any stretch of the imagination.
