After returning from a wedding reception, a couple staying in an isolated vacation house receive a knock on the door in the mid-hours of the night. What ensues is a violent invasion by three strangers, their faces hidden behind masks. The couple find themselves in a violent struggle, in which they go beyond what either of them thought capable in order to survive.
A Story of a young couple in their country home being terrorized by 3 masked strangers. Rumour has it that this movie was inspired by a true story, but research confirmed that Writer and Director Bryan Bertino said "a stranger came to his happy home asking for someone who was not there, and Bertino later found out that empty homes in the neighborhood had been broken into that night, but said his main inspiration was Helter Skelter "
This Movie did scare me, and I am not easy to scare. I love horror movies, but this one was more of a psychological horror, It gets into your head. I wish the story was more complete though, I wasn't to thrilled with the ending, and in most cases I would rate the movie based on that, but the movie has enough to leave me satisfied. Although I wouldn't mind a sequel. It reminded me a lot of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre stories, Just a Family, that is sick and twisted and brutally murders innocent people for no reason. I would recommed this movie if you enjoy a good horror movie.
After a 4 a.m knock at the door and a haunting voice, Kristen Mckay (Liv Tyler) and James Hoyt's (Scott Speedman)remote getaway becomes a psychological night of terror as three masked strangers invade. Now they must go far beyond what they thought themselves capable of,if they hope to survive.
"May prevent you from ever going home again" with that slashed all over the unrated version of the strangers, how could you not pick this movie up and be drawn into the actual events that took place in this summer blockbuster thriller!!!From the beginning to end, your left in an absolute rattle of terror.director Bryan Bertino directs and write's this astonishing movie...with edge of your seat screams...and an unrated ending to die for.The Strangers is a great movie to check out and is totally worth buying..
unbelievably scary!!! "Why you doing this to us?" "Because you were home!!"
I have watched many horror films in my time, and this was more like a comedy. The plot line (if you can call it that) was so predictable. The film itself made no apparent sense. And the camera work could have been made better by a 10 year old.
I would say do not go and see this movie, it's a waste of time and money.
As a horror movie fan i came into the theater expecting a terrifying thriller. Full of scary twists, and scenes that would make me go nights without sleep. Well I had never been so wrong in my life. As I watched the movie and a scene that was supposed to be scary came up I would chuckle, because this movie was so predictable. The filming and plot of the movie is like a goddamn 6th grade film on the family video camera. If your are even thinking about watching this movie don't because you will just leave the movie felling like a stranger, to the strangers.
