In the summer of 1941, the United States and Japan seem on the brink of war after constant embargos and failed diplomacy come to no end. "Tora! Tora! Tora!", named after the code words use by the lead Japanese pilot to indicate they had surprised the Americans, covers the days leading up to the attack on Pearl Harbor, which plunged America into the Second World War.

I remember hearing of this movie when I was a child. Through my life I had never came upon it until this last weekend. I attended the EAA airshow in Oshkosh, WI. They had 8 of the Japanese Zeros that are used in this movie. This made me want to view the movie and see for myself if this movie was as great as they made it out to be. For being 1970 this movie was put together quite well and I am surprised by how historically accurate it was. Usually with Hollywood they'll over-dramatize many scenes to make the viewer feel more emotion to a scene but there was no over-dramatization needed for this one. The battle scenes were put together nicely without being over the top. Some may say that there isn't any action in this movie until the end. The process by which they got to the ending should keep you plenty entertained where you don't need a lot of physical action sequences occuring. Whether you are a war/history buff or just a fan of seeing movies, this is definitely a classic that shouldn't be ignored and should be watched by everyone. 7/10
